According to TV Blackbox, 9Gem will have FTA premieres of BBC documentary Earth from Space (narrated by Chiwetel Ejiofor) and history docu-drama Spy Wars, hosted by Damian Lewis, from A+E Network UK.
Earth from Space debuted on BBC in April 2019, and is currently screening on BBC Earth on Foxtel and Fetch.
Spy Wars premiered in UK in September last year.
US crime drama Shades of Blue, starring Jennifer Lopez, has its FTA premiere on 9Gem next Monday (July 6) at 10.40pm. It ran on NBC for three seasons from 2016 to 2018.
BBC missing persons documentary Reported Missing will have its FTA premiere on 9Gem in Sydney and Brisbane next Thursday week (July 16) at 8.30pm. Two seasons were made - three episodes in 2017 and five episodes in 2018.
EDIT: The show will premiere on Nine in Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth on the same night at 8.30pm.
EDIT: all three shows will start next Sunday (November 8). Their 9Gem debut was postponed due to the death of Sean Connery, with 007 flicks Dr No and From Russia with Love shown instead.
Love this channel, mainly because of the old British and American films it shows that used to appear regularly overnight back in the 90s but were replaced by infomercials from the 00s onwards.
American movies are largely Universal Studio films while British films are from most of the major studios of their era with the exception of Rank films which used to be on overnight on ABC.
An encore of Top End Wedding will be on 9GEM tonight at 7.30PM due to the breaking news which cut the ending off. There was a lot of negative comments on Channel 9’s Facebook page due to the cut yesterday.
