UX is not Seven’s strong suit

How long has 7plus been showing live boxing? I only found out that they had this on a few hrs ago. I’m not sure whether it’s a one-off thing or whether there is a few Boxing coming up on 7plus.

Landing on 7Plus on Easter Monday, is 2006’s Pay TV acclaimed and ended up being a bit of a hit show Friday Night Lights. Starring Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton (in their best performances IMO) plus giving rise to now stars Taylor Kitsch and Jesse Plemons. A re-working of the underrated 2004 movie starring Oscar winner Billy Bob Thornton, itsself an adaptation of a 1990 story. Highly recommend this one.

Also got a write-up in this week’s Green Guide, good to see bvod getting mentions as well.

One of my favourite shows of all time.

Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.

2015 Foxtel mini-series Deadline Gallipoli, starring Joel Jackson as World War I correspondent Charles Bean, will stream on 7plus on April 23, ahead of Anzac Day.

2024 marks 110 years since the start of WWI.

When did 7plus shorten Shortland Street to 4 episodes a week?

That’s going to make us even further behind NZ.

Hasn’t been an issue on Apple TV. Actually, seems allot more consistent now.

But since switching to another browser I don’t get those ads :stuck_out_tongue:

Ricky Gervais - Science

24 April 2024

This release from critically acclaimed British comedian Ricky Gervais captures a complete live stand-up performance by the funnyman, recorded at London’s Hammersmith HMV Appollo Theatre in 2010, and focuses on how the world worked before humans invented God.

So Foxtel is allowing more of its series to appear on commercial networks and streaming services?

I think Seven got the streaming rights to Deadline Gallipoli from its NBCUniversal output deal. Deadline Gallipoli was produced by Matchbox Pictures which in turn is owned by NBCUniversal.

Depends on whether Foxtel actually produced it or just commissioned it. Plus many studios are opening up their libraries to other platforms. If it’s no longer got an audience on your streamer (audience growth has flatlined), makes sense to licence it out to a FTA/local streamer for a while. Disney has also started licensing some content back to Stan.

Exclusive to 7plus: Extended Family available now

Jon Cryer, Donald Faison and Abigail Spencer lead all-star cast

The wait is over! The Australian premiere of brand-new multicamera sitcom Extended Family is now available to stream exclusively on 7plus.

Featuring an all-star cast, this highly anticipated series promises to deliver both laughter and heart as it explores the ups and downs of modern family life.

Leading the stellar ensemble are Emmy® Award winner Jon Cryer (Two and a Half Men, Pretty in Pink) and Abigail Spencer (Timeless, Suits, Grey’s Anatomy) as Jim and Julia: an amicably divorced couple who are navigating the complexities of co-parenting while raising their children in the family home.

As they take turns living with their kids, their unconventional arrangement becomes even more challenging when the charismatic owner of Jim’s favourite sports team, Trey, played by Donald Faison (Scrubs), enters the picture and sweeps Julia off her feet.

The talented cast also includes rising stars Sofia Capanna and Finn Sweeney.

Creator Mike O’Malley serves as showrunner and executive producer. Tom Werner, Jon Cryer, Wyc Grousbeck, Emilia Fazzalari, George Geyer, Victor Levin, Victoria Morrow, and James Widdoes also serve as executive producers

Extended Family is produced by Lionsgate Television in association with Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.

Definitely something on Seven’s side. A lot of people appear to be having issues.

Monk coming soon to 7Plus, on June 19.

Also currently on Netflix and Binge. Previously on Ten, used to air on Saturday nights in Sydney and Brisbane during the AFL season (when those markets would get a late night replay for non-local team games after shows like this and movies). Was treated poorly over the years by Ten too, they still re-ran at least until about 2010 AFAIK.

From NBC-U. Originally commissioned and pre produced by Disney-ABC, where Touchstone remained a producer. Originally aired on cable in America to success and acclaim including awards on USA Network (which NBC moved Criminal Intent to in 2008), but became rather expensive and wasn’t the biggest hit.

Shalhoub was fantastic in this, was a little favourite of mine back in the day! Wonder if Seven will (can?) give it a presence on something like 7flix too, would be a good fit @aarontvcentral.

Yeah that would be great.

It usually depends on the rights deal. Sometimes they purchase at a lower cost for digital only or are only available digitally. In some cases it is broadcast + digital.
