Futurama was on Seven - first ep 2 Decemebr 1999.
Plus, it had its network premiere on Ten nearly 6 years later to the day on 30 November 2005.
Over the years, Futurama was on Seven from 1999 to 2004, then on Ten from 2005 to 2017, and is returning to Seven from 2019, just in time for the 20th anniversary of when the show first premiered in the US (and in Australia later that same year).
From memory it didnāt last long in that tineslot. The final season eventually played out at around 11.30 on a weeknight. I think (but canāt be sure) that their rights expired before they managed to play the then series finale.
Futurama has wider appeal but Iād like to see both shows on 7mate.
Hey Bort you were right it didnāt last long it was around 10:30 or 11:00 on Tuesday nights and sometimes it would air right after Buffy on
On Monday nights (10:30 buffy and Futurama at 11:30)
Part of the reason the primetime launch on Seven failed was that Ten scheduled episodes of The Simpsons in direct competition in the same timeslot.
2019 line-up promo
Yet another 2019 promo for 7mate aired, this time for āmoviesā, officially signalling that 7flix has become less about movies
Harry Potter will be re-run, as well as some other network premieres by the look of it. Still have Marvel rights (via Disney) as well as all the 20C Fox pick-ups and some new ones (Aliens)
Has 7mate ever promoted their NFL coverage during the post-season?
They certainly promote the NFL quite a bit?
Futurama begins on 7mate, Wednesday 16 January 2019.
7:30pm The Simpsons
8:30pm Futurama
9:30pm Family Guy
10:30pm American Dad
*Information available on Foxtel guide.
Hahaha you guys make up rules as you go along
Any need to continue being so bitter and twisted?
Futurama is starting from Season 1 Episode 1. It will be interesting to see if the episodes are broadcast in their original 4:3 format or reframed for 16:9 as per The Simpsons.
There appears to be an error with the guides tonight. It says Family Guy for 9:30pm, however, American Dad is currently airing.
The showing of Terminator 2 isnāt using the typical movie black bars to accomodate the widescreen picture. Most noticeable in the opening titles where the ends of the film name, and the crew names were sliced off. Also with the tech details in Arnieās ārobot-viewā.
I think they mixed up the Family Guy episodes too. One of the episode descriptions was for the episode where Peterās mum dies, but that wasnāt the episode they showed. Iām pretty sure that episode was on very recently too - possibly Wednesday night?
Seven have aired T2 a lot in recent years and the same version for all. But arenāt they provided that by their distributor, as I know TV reviewer Jane Holmes on 3AW radio said earlier this year (after contacting Seven) that The Simpsons had been re-formatted by 20C Fox to better fit with the modern era or something? (i.e.) stretched
Ads on 7Plus the one where the guy dresses up as a lobster says all these Aussie shows coming next year to 7Mate. But this year is now next year lol.
