7flix - Programs and Schedules

The shift of these shows to 7flix just doesn’t make sense…
Then again, this whole channel doesn’t make any sense really.

One theory: trying to emulate 10 Bold’s success? Total people, key demos from crime shows.

7flix does miles better than 7Two in the key demos and leans 16-39s which they have cemented with The Simpsons. Maybe they can grab a slice of the 25-54s multi-channel ad market now with these US crime procedurals (which had been making the Top 20 recently on 7Two)?

A la NCIS, NCIS: LA, SVU rating well in total people and 25-54s on Bold.

While I agree with you, what bothers me is the name.

I had a quick browse through the early days of this channel and it was clearly a movie, kids/family-oriented channel, but the name “7flix” now really has no correlation to the shows they are now leaning towards.

7Flix should just be a movies, kids shows, sitcoms and family-friendly shows with the occasional encores. Not some stupid cooking shows during the day and random trashy reality and now these crime dramas.

The crime dramas (and Gordon Ramsay shows when they’re on) belong on 7Mate, since they all suit the target demographic for the channel.

Warburton signalled at last year’s Upfronts the channel was to be rebranded and would target the female demographic. The relaunch was to have taken place around the time of the Tokyo Olympics. I see no reason why they wouldn’t go ahead with it in the next few months. The change in programming, such as those female skewing cop dramas, would suggest they’re already in the process of transitioning the channel. It’s also worth noting Seven has suddenly stopped sending us advanced guides for 7Flix.

What it’ll probably be called…7Rush! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

This should be played in the promos for the channel!

7Flix has an identity issue - and should be called “i7Mate2.0” with some of the newer content the network has added recently. lol

More accurately, 7 dumping ground.
They dump failed shows over to this channel
Quite a few failed one-season american shows are placed here.

Another show “coming soon”

And @NewsWeary makes a good point, the channel was said to be re-launching, it’s just that it’s taken longer than thought (which was noted by MediaWeek or somewhere recently). The wave of programming changes does suggest it’s beginning.

I do wonder whether they’ll keep movie marathons on Fridays and Saturdays, its consistently best rating nights since the channel started (apart from Criminal Minds Thursday which stopped some time ago)? One of these nights got a 4% share as the No. 1 multi-channel a week or two back, would it be wise to jeopardise that? The same night both movies made the Top 20 in total people and topped the key demos.

Marrying Millions is a Lifetime show

Take an incredibly wealthy individual, throw in a romance with someone from the opposite end of the income scale, and what do you get? A docuseries that explores whether love and happiness can truly exist between a member of the champagne and caviar set and someone more accustomed to a life of, say, canned beer and ramen noodles. Deeply in love and hoping to marry, but from completely different worlds, the couples profiled attempt to bridge their vast differences and fit into each other’s alien worlds while enduring the intense scrutiny of suspicious family members and friends who believe their relationships are anything but a modern-day fairy tale.

:frowning:

Seems like another relationship show.

Was it the word ‘Marrying’ in the title that gave it away? Or was it the words ‘love’, ‘romance’, ‘couples’ in the blurb or maybe even ‘relationships’ in the last sentence?

They had me at beer and ramen

I meant another relationship show on a 7 channel again, at least it isn’t on the main channel in prime time…

Seven can’t seem to make their mind up what shows are on what stations. The U.S crime shows from 7TWO look to be back on 7FLIX again going by the promos

Just caught a 7flix promo on 7mate (during the 10:30pm Family Guy re-run) and it was more of an ‘ident’ one “come on an adventure” (highlighting family movies), including Walt Disney ones with select titles as graphics. These are usually shown Fridays and Saturdays between 6pm and 8:30pm.

Interesting considering the other recent changes and where we think the channel is heading based on this, Warburton’s comments and others’ observations here.

So maybe movies are continuing, probably these weekend tiemslots, which I also wondered in a comment the other day (as they rate well). As a side note, their old Disney output seems to be taking forever to expire, especially strange to see them actually promote Disney titles in the promo, probably on their final legs and milking it? I’ve noticed an unusual amount of them airing in these aforementioned timeslots particularly the past few months.

This has been running for several months now.
