I don’t either. It would look better to have all their multi-channels next to eachother and move 4ME to 79.
Sorry, yes, it’s not launching next Sunday. My bad.
Anyway this is great news Finally an FTA movie channel
It’s not a movie channel though .
This is a good move from 7 IMO. You think it will rate better than 9Life?
It should. I believe that this channel gives a lot more variety than 9Life. I do like the concept of the channel.
Mostly Chix Flix and Chix Shows. Shame they chickened out on my 7chix suggestion.
I like that Seven went with a non-lifestyle channel. We need much more variety on FTA.
Hopefully 7Flix’s content isn’t scaled back after a while like other multichannels. I remember GO!'s launch schedule in 2009 being amazing, but it did so well in audience shares that I figure Nine feared audience fragmentation and neutered its programming lineup.
I’m a little surprised Seven hasn’t signed any new programming deals for content on this new channel but the mix of girly movies and dramas is what I expected. Perhaps they’ll look at acquiring some content from Crown Media Holdings, owners of the Hallmark Channel, down the track. They appear to be making better use of content they have access to through existing deals. It would be a good move for them to schedule some of their American dramas, such as the Shonda Rhimes titles, in stable, consistent timeslots and have designated movie nights.
The branding and sizzle reel certainly indicate the channel will be female skewed but it looks like it has the potential to appeal to a broader audience which is a plus. I can see the channel doing quite well during football season.
From the Australian today, 7flix,is aiming at stunting the momentum of global streaming giant Netflix. 7flix will also be streamed on digital platforms. 7flix will not affect the quality of any of Seven’s other channels and will not require the cancellation of any of its peripheral channels MPEG-4,
Seven will not incur any incremental costs given the content comes from existing libraries.

Not looking good for Prime viewers, I got on to facebook and wrote is Prime going to carry this new station and my post was removed…
It sure does.
Horrid logo and a confusing line up which suggests when the “Coming soon” catpion appeared on 76 that Seven had no idea what they’d be putting on it.
A female skewing channel probably was the way to go but this feels very much like a rush afterthought. Would probably have been best splitting it into two channels with 7Flix (movies only) in the evening and 7Kids in the daytime.
I can confirm that I have yet to see a promo for 7flix on prime
But I did catch a promo for 7flix on 7 Townsville streamed on my iPad Not sure about southern cross 7 (possibly in a similar situation to prime)
Anyway I got this from a source regarding 7flix on prime
"Prime7’s response on whether they’ll be getting channel 7’s new channel #7flix.
Good morning. PRIME7 currently has no commercial arrangements in place with the Seven Network to broadcast 7FLIX.
The addition of any new channel is technically challenging, takes time and requires substantial capital investment. From a broadcast engineering perspective, regional broadcasters are far more complex businesses than metro operations, covering larger geographic areas with multiple signals that service a large number of local areas across regional Australia.
We will certainly update viewers if and when this new service becomes available in regional areas.
We recommend that you contact Seven directly. Thank you."
I’d be suggesting to Prime that they’d better hurry up and get their fingers out because it’ll be another nail in their coffin if Seven has this streaming live before they have an agreement in place. There’s no shortage of advice on the internet on how to bypass Prime and get Seven’s streams onto your TV. They wonder why regional television is becoming irrelevant.
You think that it would be in the very best interest of Prime7/GWN7/SCTV to launch 7Flix on Day 1 or at the very least, as soon as possible.
As NewsWeary rightfully pointed out, it will be another nail in the coffin for regional TV if Seven has the new channel streaming live before the regional affiliates are broadcasting it.
I can’t see it doing anything at stunting Netflix lol… I’d rather watch fresh new stuff on Stan or Netflix than this channel. Looks like a rushed idea IMO.
Parliament is expected to introduce legalisation regarding the reach rule sometime in the first half of the year.
If that’s true, it’s only a matter of time before prime / 7 is merged or bought out by 7 network And possibly I’d expect some southern cross stations to be bought by 7 network as well.
I highly doubt it would have changed the timing of 7fliz to regional areas.but the delays won’t be as lengthy as is the case now.
But you’d think that prime now have 2 shopping channels, prime could easily have got rid of Ishop tv and replace it with 7foix. But prime won’t because of revenue raising.
It’s worth sharing, in case anyone else hasn’t noticed yet, that the LCN name on 76 has been changed from “New Channel” to “7flix”. It was still “New Channel” as of last night, even when the 7flix loop was shown after Seven announced it during the 1st ad break of Molly.
Was that promo on loop all night? Everytime I flicked over I only saw a couple of title cards. If it isn’t on high rotation, it should be.
