Just saw a promo showing North Sydney Bears playing at the SCG and an old timey sounding TCN 9 announcer saying “you are witnessing history here today, the first ever broadcast of the NRL…”
Shouldn’t he have said NSWRL? How did this pass quality controls?

That’s the only obvious error in that shitty AI-generated unnatural re-creation. We’ve been discussing the other anomalies over at Nine On-Air Presentation.

So did this promo, recreating the first broadcast on Nine, use any actors or was it completely AI?
The giveaway is actually the “studio door” scene. TCN’s studios weren’t fully constructed in time for Gyngell to deliver his speech on site, so the message was instead filmed in a nearby church.

Thanks for that link. I hadn’t seen the chat. At first you think it looks really good but then you see that it’s too crisp so it looks very fake.

Right? You hit the nail on the head, I almost exclusively watch the ABC and I’ve become almost allergic to ads!
I’d love to see them wheel out some of the old idents but I’m not holding my breath. If it’s anything more than the AI slop Nine has served up, I’ll be satisfied!
… which isn’t actually “actual” as it was re-staged a year later …
