Good Cop/Bad Cop is eligible because Stan invested money in the production.
It reminds me of HBO’s World War II mini-series The Pacific, which had mostly American actors and was shot entirely in Australia. Seven invested in the project in order to get the Australian broadcast rights. It premiered on Seven in 2010 and was eligible for the 2011 Logies, but was snubbed altogether.
Public can vote for every single category now (apart from the Hall of Fame award).
From the four “public awards” nominees (the Gold, Presenter, News Presenter and New Talent), the publics votes make up 100% of the votes,
For all of the other awards, the public votes make up 30% of the total vote. And 70% is from a combination of the Industry Choices (i think) and ratings.
Very odd, especially for some of the awards like News Coverage, Children’s Programs, and perhaps the Sports Coverage.
They’ve really ruined the Logie Awards with the changes in categories, process of nominations and voting. They had actually evolved into a good balance of Most Popular and Most Outstanding categories in the last few years before this major change.
I have always loved the Logie Awards and often commented on how they could tweak some categories to improve them. The whole thing has gone to hell now. “Best” means nothing when it involves public voting.
All I see and hear is people taking the piss out of the awards. They have lost any credibility they might have had.
Gold Logie nominee Lynne McGranger joined Larry Emdur and Sally Bowrey on The Morning Show to chat about her two nominations ahead of the 65th TV WEEK Logie Awards.
