Todd Woodbridge will be hot favourite to take out the most popular presenter award, given the ratings of Tipping Point.

Also, this year we have two overseas nominees: Leighton Meester and Kaitlyn Dever.

Those are some interesting nominations, most are not really what I was expecting.

And Sam Pang’s new show managed to get nominated but no Cheap Seats, no I’m a Celeb or Robert Irwin.

I mean do we really have a lack of worthy entertainment shows in this country that we need to nominate the annual New Years Eve fireworks and Christmas Carols broadcasts to fill the category

NINE CELEBRATES 32 NOMINATIONS AT THE 65TH TV WEEK LOGIE AWARDS

Alongside Gold Logie nominations for Ally Langdon and Hamish Blake, 9Network and Stan recognised across a multitude of diverse categories with a joint nod for The Olympic Games Paris 2024

9Network and Stan today celebrate an incredible 32 nominations for the 65th TV WEEK Logie Awards, to be held at The Star Sydney, on Sunday 3 August. This includes 23 recognitions for 9Network and 9 for Stan, with the Olympics nomination shared across both platforms.

At Nine, we don’t just reflect the national conversation - we help lead it. Our strength lies in backing bold, original storytelling that speaks to who we are, how we live, and what matters most to Australians today. Michelle Lim Davidson and Marg Downey have been nominated for best supporting actress for their roles in The Newsreader.

Interestingly, Anna Torv is nominated not for The Newsreader, but for the axed Netflix drama Territory.

God, Julia is exhaustingly annoying

Going through the nominations list, Paramount+ only has one nomination (for Fake), even so both Fake stars Asher Keddie and David Wenham missed out. Other P+ shows like NCIS: Sydney, The Inspired Unemployed (Impractical) Jokers and Last King of the Cross were snubbed.

SBS has 1 1/2 nominations (Little J & Big Cuz is listed under both NITV and ABC).

Territory, which was axed by Netflix after only one season, has seven nominations including three in the category of best leading actor in a drama.

ABC leads networks in 2025 Logie Award nominations

ABC programs and personalities have received an incredible 44 Logie nominations, more than any other network or streamer, including a Gold Logie nomination for Lisa Millar.

Millar’s warmth, energy and compassion has struck a chord with Australian audiences as presenter and narrator of Muster Dogs (Where Are They Now and Collies & Kelpies), host of Back Roads, and presenter on ABC News Breakfast from 2019 to 2024. A respected journalist, Millar is also one of the ABC’s longest-serving foreign correspondents.

The ABC received nominations across most categories, with Fisk (produced by Origma 45) shortlisted five times, Austin (Northern Pictures with Lincoln Pictures) four times, The Newsreader (Werner Film Productions) and Return to Paradise (BBC Studios and Red Planet Pictures) each three.

Zan Rowe has been nominated for the Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter for her work on Take 5 With Zan Rowe and the ABC’s New Year’s Eve broadcast while Guy Montgomery (Guy Montgomery’s Guy Mont Spelling Bee) is in contention for the Graham Kennedy Award for Most Popular New Talent.

7.30 anchor Sarah Ferguson and Insiders host David Speers are both nominated for the Ray Martin Award for Most Popular News or Public Affairs Presenter.

The ABC is nominated for 12 Silver Logies including Michael Theo, Ben Miller (Austin) and Aaron Chen (Fisk) for Best Lead Actor in a Comedy. Kitty Flanagan (Fisk) and Sally Phillips (Austin) are nominated for Best Lead Actress in a Comedy. Return to Paradise stars Lloyd Griffith and Tai Hara are nominated for Best Lead Actor in a Drama and Anna Samson for Best Lead Actress in a Drama.

ABC Director, Screen, Jennifer Collins said: “I’m delighted to see Lisa, Zan and so many talented ABC colleagues and programs recognised at this year’s Logie Awards. Congratulations to all our nominees, our incredible production partners and our brilliant ABC Screen and News teams. These nominations reflect our commitment to delivering a premium slate of programming that has a real and meaningful impact for Australians.”

The 65th Logie Awards are on Sunday, August 3, 2025, at The Star Sydney.

I do not understand how Asher Keddie is not nominated for Fake. She was incredible in it.

Overall I find the nominations uninspiring and a bit pedestrian. The gold logie nominations are a train wreck. Plenty of reasons not to give any of them the award.

As others have said the timing of these awards and the eligibility dates are stupid. Some nominations are for last year and others for this year. There’s no consistency and it all seems haphazard and disorganized.

Just gets worse year after year.

As per network politics, and TV weeks obsession with H & A,
I’m fairly certain Lynne will take the Gold. No need for voting campaigns, its basically done!

Interesting list of nominations.

Gold seems okay. Hamish there for just a few eps of Lego Masters? I can see Lynne winning, even without a campaign. And i dont even watch Home and Away.

Neighbours snummed again.

Entertainment awards seem odd. Strange that The Cheap Seats and The Front Bar aren’t there, but once off shows like ABC’s NYE and Countdown 50 Years and Nine’s Carols are there.

The new talent awards have a good mix of noms there.

I think 7 will put a heavy campaign behind Lynne.

Also how is “Red Carpet” for the Logies able to be put under Sonia’s name?

It would be like nominating Sam Pang for hosting the Logies

Overall seems like a bizarre bunch of nominees. Would be really interested to know how they’re determined

Why though? Just because she has been on a show for a very long time does not mean she should be a certainty. She is very niche with a very limited contribution to TV as a whole. I find it very bizarre that she is even nominated.

My bet is on Lynne or Poh

Still don’t understand why Kitty Flanagan wasn’t nominated for Gold, Rob Irwin not nominated for anything, Sam and Anna not nominated for Newsreader, Asher and David not nominated for Fake, Joseph Zara not nominated for New Talent.

Gold Logie nominees should be who is genuinely most popular with the public, not who PR teams determine should be up for it this year.
