March 31 this year I think?
As mentioned by JohnsonTV above, the Logies cut off was 31 March. Strife 2 began on May 8.
Having the eligibility period of April 1 until March 31 still baffles me. Especially when nominations come out on June 16 (some 2 and a half months later), and the actually Awards Ceremony another month and a half later, on August 3. And confusing when shows start in this period. Way too far in between the end of the eligibility period, nominations and Ceremony.
Nominations come out on Monday. Letās get some predictions going
Sam Pang for SPT will get a logie
Most Popular Presenter: Jim Jeffries (The 1% Club), Todd Woodbridge (Tipping Point), Grant Denyer (Deal), Tom Gleeson (Hard Quiz) and Marc Fennell (Mastermind). Quiz shows are the it thing at the moment. Seven will push Nat Barr or Sonia Kruger to be in the mix too.
What about the acting awards?
I reckon Asher Keddie and David Wenham (Fake), Patrick Brammall and Harriet Dyer (Colin from Accounts) will be nominated in acting categories.
Surely Anna Trov and Sam Reid from The Newsreader would be up for some awards as well?
I do have to wonder what surprise nominations will come out on Monday morning.
Last year, it was Robert Irwin nominated for the Gold and Best Presenter for his first major hosting role (on Iām A Celeb). Also that no Home and Away cast were nominated anywhere except for the New Talent award. A first in like 30 years. ABCās NYE coverage and Nineās Carols by Candlelight up for Best Entertainment Program were a surprise too. Thereāll probably be some oddity noms again this time around too. Not sure what, but we will find out soon. lol.
Any final predictions before nominations come out tomorrow?
Rick & Sue for best new talent
GOLD LOGIE NOMINEESā¦
Lisa Millar
Ally Langdon
Julia Morris
Poh Ling Yeow
Hamish Blake
Sonia Kruger
Lynne McGranger
I thought David Campbell was one of the gold logie nominees
Lynne would have to win out of this bunch youād think.
Another channel 7 star to win
It would make it 3 in a row. The other 2 won on campaigns, Lynne would win from the list even without a campaign I would think.
Would be interested to know how they derive the Gold Logie noms? An interesting batch this yearā¦
Also surprised that after being nominated for Gold and Best Presenter last year Rob Irwin gets nothing this year?
Probably not as popular to the viewers
