64th TV Week Logie Awards 2024

He doesn’t what?

Matt Wilson (Aaron) and Majella Davis (Krista) have done some brilliant work this year on Neighbours but I gather it’s taboo to nominate someone in a soap. I bet if they’d done this work on ABC or Netflix they would’ve been nominated in a heartbeat.

A huge congratulations to our 64th @TVWEEKmag Logie Award nominees! #StanOriginals #Population11 #TheTouristOnStan #RevealedOnStan #WolfLikeMe #CAUGHTonStan #ScrublandsOnStan #TVWEEKLogies pic.twitter.com/EJbCO9AzWg

Sarah works on a national current affairs program Monday-Thursday, and hosts coverage of special events (budget night), and has spent years doing major investigations on Four Corners.

David is in the field presenting political stories on various nights, hosts a podcast, presents an agenda setting political program each Sunday (which networks use footage from), and hosts coverage of elections, budget night, referendums, etc.

Overton sits in a studio 5 nights a week and reads a bulletin for one market (Sydney), the occasional late bulletin, a wrap up of budget night (unlike the others who do rolling coverage), and the rare 60 minutes story.

Stars from Home and Away have been nominated every year from 1989 until last year. Not quite taboo.

Asher was absent from the photo shoot.

the Logies are not a recognition of the amount or quality of work. They are a glorified national popularity poll. I am not sure that someone who might be prominent in one city but has very limited exposure elsewhere would be enough to tip the scales towards a win.

Doesn’t matter about the win. He was obviously nominated by someone who thought he deserved it.

“someone” = Channel Nine publicity, based in Sydney. Not at all a measure of broader national sentiment.

This is important - nominees for a number of these awards are people who their network’s publicity want to push forward

Surprised that’s the Cheap Seats missed out on any nominations given then won last years

Surprised that Irwin is receiving a Gold Logie. Thought it would be DCB

I’d love to see Larry Emdur acknowledged with a win, and Michael Usher.
Both are versatile and have been around for ages. Nice guys.

Dr Chris Brown wasnt on Seven when the voting period was on. Dream House only started a few weeks ago. And as if 10 will put forward Brown’s name for last years I’m A Celeb…

A Seven ad calling for viewers to vote for Larry aired this evening in Melbourne during the 6pm news.

Geez. That’s quick from Seven. Will we see two months worth of watermarks and ads for Emdur? Like what Seven did for Kruger last year.

“Logies Red Carpet” LOL at one of Sonia Kruger’s programs listed :joy:

100%, an odd nomination.

I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s due to the uninterrupted ratings run since 2011, but then why wouldn’t Susannah and Rick from Perth get a nod, even longer run (and that’s putting it mildly).
