64th TV Week Logie Awards 2024

That was season 2?

Season 1 of Colin from Accounts already won some awards at last years Logies. So Season Two misses out of this years one.

Then again, they’ve included shows that were outside of the voting periods in the past. So it could happen. lol.

How does that Kruger get nominated? Just continually talentless.

Asher Keddie being nominated for Gold Logie is huge.

Julia and Robert being nominated for both most popular presenter and Gold Logie could split fans votes, however.

Some really good nominees in the drama awards. Looks like they’ve got the balance right.

Then there are always the questionable nominations.

I notice the streaming platforms are featuring more often in this year’s nominations. They even dominate a single category in best supporting actor.

Carols by Candlelight getting nominated for best entertainment program is very interesting.

The Weekly and The Yearly have both been nominated for best comedy entertainment program. I think only The Weekly should be eligible as The Yearly is just a variant of The Weekly.

Married at First Sight may have enjoyed persistent high ratings, but will face tough competition in the best structured reality program.

This is the first time two American actors (Sigourney Weaver and Ben Feldman) have been nominated for a Logie. If either wins, they will become the first American since Joel Madden in 2013 to win an award.

I think Optus Sport will feel hard done by given it was the main broadcaster of the tournament, although Seven also did a great job.

Robert Irwin’s big breakthrough, and already up for the Gold and Popular Presenter. Up against veteran Larry Emdur in both awards. Andy Lee up for Gold, instead of Hamish? That’s different. I don’t get the hype for Sonia either.

Home and Away NOT nominated anywhere? edit: someone’s up for New Talent.

What’s it going to take to get funnyman Sam Pang nominated?

How is Overton in the same category as national presenters such as David Spiers and Sarah Ferguson?

Maybe because he also presents Nine News Late occasionally?

Why is Australian Idol up for an Entertainment Award, instead of the Reality Competition Award?

ABC’s NYE Coverage, and Nine’s Carols are up for Entertainment too.

Rob Collins twice for lead actor?

Very good for Overton

Of all the entertainment shows on TV, this sort of nonsense gets nominated? What a waste of two nominations

A whirlwind year for Robert. Julia notches up another nomination that she won’t win. It should realistically go to Larry given his longevity but I suspect Sonia will take it again. Wouldn’t mind if Tony won either

Compared to David and Sarah who host flagship national agenda setting programs?

Why should local presenters who work just as hard be shunned from the awards?

Bit of a fall from grace for Home & Away. Just one nomination, and not even a chance of winning best drama.

A pretty good list this year. Unfortunately there aren’t enough awards to go around with many missing out. The Best Entertainment Program is probably the weakest list IMO. Best Current Affairs seems unfair as well with only ABC and Nine with nominations - was Spotlight too toxic a brand?

No one who is solely on breakfast TV got a nom, though with 3.5 hours a day 5 days a week I thought someone might and with a huge reach audience.

Todd Woodbridge deserves a Logie for contributing to the big afternoon game show turn around but Larry gets a Gold nomination

He doesn’t. That’s the point.
