Sam Pang suits up for television’s night of nights

Sam Pang is calling on some flamin’ legends as he suits up for television’s night of nights, the 63rd TV WEEK Logie Awards, broadcast exclusively on Channel 7 and 7plus on Sunday, 30 July from 7.00pm.

The comedian and co-host of Seven’s The Front Bar is the first host of the Logies in 11 years, joining an illustrious list of entertainment giants including Graham Kennedy, Bert Newton, Don Lane, Andrew Denton and Shaun Micallef in the role.

As the proud new home of the Logies, Seven is ushering in a new era for TV’s most prestigious and glamourous celebration.

Voting is now open for all popular awards and remains open until the end of the red carpet telecast at 7.30pm AEST on Sunday, 30 July, except for the coveted TV WEEK Gold Logie Award, which, for the first time ever, will stay open throughout the telecast and close at 10.30pm AEST.

Those watching at home have the chance to help shape Australian television history, live on the night, with their vote for who should take out the evening’s big award.

Vote now for your favourites from the shortlisted nominees at www.tvweeklogies.com.au and don’t miss all the Logies action from The Star Sydney in Seven’s exclusive telecast next month.

The 63rd TV WEEK Logie Awards is proudly supported by the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW.

Dr Chris Brown to team up with Sonia Kruger for Logies 2023 red carpet Channel 7 announces

Popular TV personality Chris Brown’s first major gig for Channel Seven has been revealed.

The former Bondi Vet star was recently announced as the latest celebrity to join Seven’s line-up of personalities.

Joining him will be entertainer, presenter and Gold Logie nominee Sonia Kruger, with the pair covering all the glitz and glamour from Australian TV’s night of nights.

The duo said they were incredibly excited to be working together for the event.

“I’d like to thank the Seven Network for this early Christmas present,” Sonia said.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be working with Chris Brown on the amuse-bouche to the main event, the main course if you will, with the very tasty Sam Pang,” she added, referring to this year’s Logies host.

“Chris has such great, natural charisma and a brilliant sense of humour.

“With my brains and Chris’ beauty, this red-carpet show is going to be fresh, fun, unpredictable and bigger than ever.

“It will be one of the best nights ever for both the television industry and the viewers at home. I can’t wait.”

Chris added: “As far as I’m concerned, Sonia Kruger is the Logies”, describing her as “naturally funny, fearless, flawless and a party animal”.

“So while it may be a duty of care situation that they’ve paired her with a vet, I genuinely can’t wait to work with her on the red carpet show,” he said.

“There’s a real excitement around the Logies being unpredictable this year.

“And nothing says unpredictable like putting a colour blind guy like me on the red carpet.

“However, luring Sam Pang off the green of the local golf course to host might be the wildest swing of all.

“I honestly can’t wait!”

The TV WEEK Logie Awards has also confirmed a star-studded line up of presenters for the evening.

The long list of celebs includes comedian Celeste Barber, Kitchen Nightmares Australia’s Colin Fassnidge, former Sunrise personality Grant Denyer, radio host Kyle Sandilands, The Morning Show co-hosts Kylie Gillies and Larry Emdur, Home and Away’s Lynne McGranger, Sunrise co-hosts Matt Shirvington and Natalie Barr, and Farmer Wants a Wife host Samantha Armytage.

I mean, it is now a Seven hosted event and it’s their right to take advantage of that however they please (not to mention the very long gap since another network or them last broadcast it and Nine always used to make it a lot about them when they had it especially in later years where a lot of criticism was aimed), however surely some more Nine personalities will feature? Seven’s selections seem very anti-Nine, not that it’s not to be expected.

Could be a thing from Nine refusing to provide talent for the broadcast…

I’d hope that’s not true

Well… Seven and the event organisers went behind their backs and did this deal, so I would be peeved if I was them too.

From the TVTonight article:

A few stars from 10 are presenting - Stephen Peacocke and Kat Sterwart (Five Bedrooms), Alan Fletcher (Neighbours) and Osher Gunsberg (Bachelor). ABC has Mark Coles Smith (Mystery Road) and Tony Armstrong presenting too. Others include Emma Hamilton, Joel Creasey, Marta Dusseldorp, Poh Ling Yeo. Also, Roger Corser is presenting. Is he still with Nine?
