Also yawn, two massively overexposed and uninspiring hosts fronting coverage.
Sorta funny that both have been lured back to 7 from the other two commercial networks after arguably finding more fame elsewhere, much like a lot of the reality series 7 have picked up.
I love Amanda Keller but she has been around long enough to be acutely aware as much as anyone that you can be ‘hot’ one minute and ‘not’ the next. TV is a brutal business and her show (regrettably, IMO) is no longer on air. Even current TV celebs aren’t guaranteed an invitation to the Logies, why should someone who is not on TV?
I thought this year was meant to be all about refreshing the Logies and everything meant to be new and updated.
You can’t do the arrivals live anyway. They don’t all arrive conveniently in half an hour. They stroll in, stop for photos and chats. Some don’t have anything interesting to say. You need an edit.
Ricki Lee Coulter mentioned on her radio show on Nova that she was also presenting an award, as was her co-host Joel Creasey who has already been announced.
Suggest that there will be less content, with several of Nine’s broadcasts finishing after midnight and even then some award presentations were not show. Hopefully it is some of the extraneous material that is cut and not live presentations.
There’s no reason for the Red Carpet segment to go for more than 30 minutes long. Chris Brown and Sonia Kruger should be only asking two questions - “who are are you wearing” and “do you think you’ll win the award”. And a quick montage of the “Best Dressed”. Be done and quick.
And the actual Ceremony can air at 7.30pm on the dot. A 3.5 hour telecast is more than enough time. Will that happen though? Nope.
I did my Logie voting today. Noticed that nominees are shown in alphabetical order (including A and The in the listing so that The Block is last). Very poor design. They should be randomised for every person that votes to remove the bias of being listed first. It’s the same every year though.
