It’s been a big success in Australia and worldwide. It has received coverage in the media and here on Media Spy.

Surprised Ten didn’t put people like Sarah Harris up or promote the Project a bit more. There’s probably a blacklist on them now after what happened.

Your new conspiracy theory. :joy:

How is I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here eligible for this year’s awards? Season 8 finished on January 30 last year while season 9 didn’t start until April 2 this year. Both seasons were shown outside the eligibility period (April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023).

And it seems Chris Brown was deliberately left off the list of suggested presenters

But we sadly don’t get to see who the networks send through to the Logies. It would be nice to see the list of contenders they send through though.

how do you know they didn’t? Just because they didn’t make the final cut doesn’t mean Ten didn’t put them forward for shortlisting.

Is that why there’s 3 actresses from Home and Away up for nomination?

I don’t know, I didn’t write the list. But the networks have their input but the ultimate shortlist lies with the organisers. If the organisers have decided a certain way that’s not on Ten. We don’t know that Ten didn’t put The Project for consideration in any category. And Seven is the host broadcaster… that might be why there are 3 H&A actors up for nomination.

What is the point or value of the Gold Logie? (Serious question).

I only ask, and no offence to Mark Coles Smith (I also haven’t seen the show he features in) but I thought Gold was for more of the stalwarts or the BIG personalities of television currently and years gone by?

Exactly.

It’s a joke that he’s there. Hamish too. He’s on air 3 weeks a year. Hardly worthy.

Bragging rights.

He hasn’t stop banging on about it for the next 48 weeks of the year. :stuck_out_tongue:

Samual Johnson won the Gold Logie a few years ago for being on air for just two nights in the whole year (for his role on Molly).

Although ii do agree about Hamish. He will brag on about it non stop.

what about the missing week…?

It’s definition is “most popular personality” of the immediate past year. It could be someone who’s been around years or someone who’s been around 5 minutes, but generally it might favour someone with some runs on the board… and it helps if their network steps up the campaigning!

Still the worst one has to be when Samuel Johnson was nominated (and won!) for a 2 ep mini series and that was the sum total of tv influence for the year.
A few hours on screen shouldn’t even have someone being nominated for a gold Logie

It made more sense when it was won by people like Ray Martin, Lisa McCune, Rove etc.

Nowadays surely it should go to someone like Tracy Grimshaw, Kochie, Larry Emdur, Johanna Griggs. People actually know who they are and they are/were constantly on-screen throughout the year.

He was 100% deserving for “Molly”, his performance was lauded and captivated the nation portraying a beloved icon, it rated in excess of 2m metro (last telemovie or drama to do so). These are who Gold should go to, TV’s cream of the crop (like when John Wood finally and Lisa McCune, Kate Ritchie, Rebecca Gibney, Ray Meagher, etc) and IMO not the general entertainers or personalities, even though I’m aware throughout history it has also often gone to these types, some of which are also legends and recently passed away and you could argue are equally deserving of recognition. I guess it is a bit of a tough one.
