Do you think Pang will do a Ricky Gervais and just roast everyone in the room?

I thought the big TV stories usually broke/got sent in on Sunday mornings? Even if embargoed until then. Maybe it was thought it’d leak before tomorrow morning, so got it out tonight? Full marks to TVT thought for first reporting it, hope mastheads acknowledge Knoxy.

Excellent choice.

Glad that San Pang has been confirmed as host for tbe Logies. He will certainly have a dig at the industry, in his usual unique way.

As for who’ll be nominated, id say the likes of Kochie, Ray Meagher, Ada Nicodemou and perhaps Tom Gleeson will be nominated at soke of the awards.

Last year, streaming show Love Me was up for a few popular awards. I do wonder if a new small show will do the same this year.

AFAIK the story was posted by Seven.

Interesting, but unsurprising CV listing Front Bar first in is TV roles.

A much-loved comedian, radio and TV presenter, Sam co-hosts The Front Bar with Mick Molloy and Andy Maher.

He’s also known for his appearances on Have You Been Paying Attention?, as a commentator on The Eurovision Song Contest, and as a co-host of Chrissy, Sam & Browny on Nova 100 with Chrissie Swan and Jonathan Brown.

Fantastic. Let’s hope he’s as uncut as he was in Kitty’s logie speech.

This would be the Gold Logie line up if Seven had it’s way:
Ray Meagher (Home and Away), Sophie Dillman (Home and Away), Sam Mac (Sunrise), Ricki-Lee Coulter (Australian Idol), Meghan Trainor (Australian Idol), Sam Armytage (Farmer Wants a Wife)

Sam Pang is on the cover of Stellar magazine today. It was kept under wraps so as not to spoil the official announcement last evening.

They should have used the pic with the bottle on the cover

Did they need to go with a negative headline? Is it just because the awards are run by competing media companies that they feel the need to bag them?

Starting to feel like Sam Everywhere Pang :stuck_out_tongue:

He should get a ribbing on Have You Been Paying Attention? on Monday.

How would he go with his own show?

Its a fair question IMO - frankly the whole thing has had its time and should be shaken up, or retired.

Do we need to be cynical about everything? Sounds like a grumpy old man talking about everything not being like the old days. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

The whole thing is a circlejerk - by all means, keep the event, but get rid of the pointless broadcast.

The popular vote decided categories are a meaningless reflection of who the networks want to promote or have a strong social media presence. The industry-voted awards are a better reflection of quality broadcasting but are significantly downplayed

I agree that the awards would be better if the industry-voted awards were the focus. There was a time when the “Best” or “Most Outstanding” categories regned over the “Most Popular” categories.

I’d be happy if the awards show was all about the industry-voted awards and the popularity awards were dropped or maybe just announced going into a commercial break.

Who is producing is this year? Was it in house at 9? It’s always so boring they need to liven it up with proper music acts, sketches (I would utilise the people off that sketch show on 7) and audience involvement, maybe read out tweets or display them on bottom of screen
