I’m not sure the networks choosing who to nominate is a good idea. The old nominations shortlist used to be a lot better I think.
I suppose I’ll barrack for Julia Morris for Gold but I’m really not overly excited by any of that lineup.

I’m surprised Amanda Keller isn’t in the list of Gold nominees. I imagine she’d be surprised too.
I reckon they’re campaigning for Melissa at Ten
Why should she be eligible? Nobody even knows her show is still on.
Aren’t the Logies Gold vote meant to be for big popular names?
I was really looking forward to the Logies but some of the nominees on the nominations list are a big turn off. IMO there should be a rule that you can only win the Gold Logie once.
I was wondering if they could implement that as a rule as well. Unofficially it has been adopted by voters in recent years anyway as we haven’t had a double up winner since Kate Ritchie.
I was under the impression she was expected to win it the year Tom Gleeson won.
Well, that’s ridiculous. You can be mist popular personality in Australia for more than one year. The real problem here is that it’s doubtful that these personalities really are the most popular right now. A lot of them feel like throwbacks from a few years which the networks are pushing to keep their shows relevant.
I agree. I doubt many people in Australia have even seen those shows or performances.
Karl & Lisa were at the same event?
Do those in the industry actually hold the Logies in high esteem? Or is it just a giant ego boost / piss up?
“Love Me” is nominated for Most Popular Drama, with Hugo Weaving and Bojana Novakovic up for Most Popular Actor and Actress for the show. The show was on Binge and Foxtel. I hadn’t realised that this show was that popular. I would have thought that Wentworth was “more popular”.
The Cheap Seats is “a panel show” and is up for Popular Comedy, while The Front Bar, also a panel show, is up for “Popular Panel or Current Affairs Program”. Id rather see The Front Bar compete in the Entertainment Award than the award they’re in now.
I can’t see the Most Popular Sports Program returning anytime soon, as there’s only a handful of Sports Shows on FTA atm, being: Front Bar; Footy Classified; 100% Footy; Sports Sunday; Sunday Footy Show - AFL & NRL; Offsiders (plus the numerous Fox Sports related programs). Unless Seven and Nine include AFL/NRL “pre-game show” and “Post Game Show” segments as separate shows. despite not really being different shows to fulfil having a sports award… lol.
I wouldn’t have thought it was. Have seen very little buzz about it apart from a few reviews when it first launched. I watched the first episode and that was it for me.
Nine shows two voting ads during Lego Masters last night, one for Hamish Blake and one for the show itself.

Haven’t seen 7 do this previously.
They’re only doing it because they have a few nominees for it. If they don’t of course they won’t bother.
