The nominees for the 2022 TV WEEK Logie Awards have been announced
The Logies are back after a two-year hiatus!
So the public awards will have the nominations, including the Gold and Silver Awards (to acting and presenting) chosen by an industry and the tv ratings? And as such, not by the viewers?
We vote on the winners from the final nominations list? A shame, really, after the two year hiatus of the awards. I thought public engagement would be ideal for the awards.
According to The Sunday Telegraph, Sophie Monk will be revealed as the face of this year’s Logie Awards during the nomination breakfast event on Gold Coast this morning.
Gold Logie nominees announced:
Hamish Blake, Julia Morris, Karl Stefanovic, Melissa Leong, Ray Meagher, Sonia Kruger and Tom Gleeson
The 2022 Logies have been announced. Here is the official list from the TV Week website:
Gold Logie Nominations:
Hamish Blake (Lego Masters)
Julia Morris (I’m a Celebrity)
Karl Stefanovic (Today)
Melissa Leong (Masterchef)
Ray Meagher (Home and Away)
Sonia Kruger (everything on Seven)
Tom Gleeson (Hard Quiz)
I’m glad Tom Gleeson was nominated again. Am surprised to see Melissa Leong there. Hard to chose between the three Masterchef judges.
Neighbours isn’t nominated anywhere
Presenter Award is now called “Bert Newton Award for Most Popular Presenter”. A nice tribute for him. Leigh Sales from 7.30 is nominated. The rest is the usual.
New Talent: Alessandra Rampolla from Married At First Sight. Meh. Good to see Melanie Bracewell from The Cheap Seats and Tony Armstrong from News Breakfast nominated.
The Front Bar is nominated among actual current-affairs programs in “Popular Panel or Current Affairs Program”. The show really should be in the Entertainment category.
A new award is in - Most Popular Australian Actor or Actress in an International Program. This award probably not needed.
Sonia Kruger
Why would it have been?
Just going by recent trend. The show was nominated for a few awards in 2019 (Drama, Gold, Actor and Actress awards). Just being hopeful that an odd nomination would be nice (as an actual viewer of the show).
No Five Bedrooms nominated either from Paramount+? Bugger!
I’m suss about some of those Gold Logie nominees being that popular really.
Not against the idea of the networks selecting the nominees to put forward for the awards but I feel like the list of nominees for the Most Popular categories should have been larger. Then, before the awards you would reveal the shirtlist.

The Logies are back after a two-year hiatus!
Looks like The Newsreader and Wentworth will dominate the industry nominated categories.
Agree. A bit suss of these Gold nominees. 4 past winners (Hamish, Karl, Ray and Tom) are nominated. Sonia there too? Really? Id like to see a shortlist now of who the networks put forward.

Yawn
God would it be so hard for new idea to release all info in one article? This isn’t a tv series where you are revealing the story arc in each episode!
God would it be so hard for new idea to release all info in one article?
What does New Idea have to do with the TV Week Logie Awards?
What an abysmal lineup of nominees. Apart from Tom Gleeson and Hamish Blake, the rest are basically AUTOCUE readers and Alf.
And Hamish is overrated
You can tell the networks are putting up the talent this year
After 2 or 3 year of this shitty awards show not on I don’t think the public has missed it or are calling out for its return. It really is tacky given the quality of some of those nominations. It looks like its going to be a disaster.
