I like how the name has evolved, if I remember rightly you started it off as ‘HMV News’ before rebranding to 6 News.
Reminds me a bit of how TV stations evolved from using callsigns like HSV and GTV to numbers like 7 and 9.

Agree. However I don’t think anyone knew the direction or future of this passion project when it was branded to 6News. At the time it just seemed to be a television enthusiast mocking up a brand that aligned with his interest in broadcast television. Rebrands also cost money (as you know). I don’t think this news project is making enough money (or any money) at this stage to throw at a rebrand.

We are making some money (dunno about a profit but then again I suck at maths) but money aside I genuinely don’t think when we’ve got a name built up over all these years throwing it away would be worth it
Granted it’s nowhere near a household name but it’s not something I think is necessary, even if we’re obviously not playing by linear TV standards

It means nothing but it represents what we began with - a genuine passion for what we do that’s not turned into something much more serious and much larger

One thing I can note, the West Australian Football League is pronounced as “Waffle”, rather than “W.A.F.L”.
Hope there isn’t a chance the Eagles have to forfeit an AFL game though.

I use that pronunciation too but I will say I’ve heard it pronounced the latter way, including on WA news bulletins

Fair enough, I can also understand the latter pronunciation being used more outside of WA since the “waffle” nickname is more engrained here than elsewhere.
The West Australian Football Commission is always pronounced “W.A.F.C” of course. Can you imagine saying “waffc”?
