Isn’t Samantha Jade performing as well?

You’d hope not.

The squeak…

Just saw a promo on Nine trying to get people to watch by saying the Logies will be ‘live and dangerous’. Seriously, that’s the best they could come up with.

They said that the previous year, probably the same promo template…

Probably even going to use the exact same graphics package as that used in last year’s awards. Times are tough in TV-land at the moment! :stuck_out_tongue:

I wonder if Nine are going to produce the telecast in HD this year. Presumably there’s a Nine HD logo on the promos?

As long as hughesy doesn’t use the same jokes…

Jimmy Barnes has joined the performing line-up. He will sing a track recorded in Nashville for his new album.

His jokes from 2015 were pretty much recycled ones from his previous Logie presenting anyway. I expect the “new” jokes to be even more deplorable.

What’s with all the boring music performances. Not needed. The Emmys and golden globes don’t bother with tokenistick music performances from medico cre performers.

This award show is becoming more and more of a travesty.

What does he have to do with the Logies?

The Sunday Telegraph has revealed a long list of presenters for next week’s awards. Among them is recently retired basketballer Lauren Jackson, I think she will present most outstanding sports coverage award.

seems a bit of an oversupply of ch9 faces.

###TV WEEK LOGIE AWARDS

Sunday 8 May at 9pm

A who’s who of Australian television will descend upon Melbourne’s Crown Entertainment Complex when the 58th TV Week Logie Awards are broadcast live on Channel Nine on Sunday, May 8.

The biggest night on the Australian entertainment calendar will come alive from 7.00pm with all the glamour and style of the red carpet arrivals, this year presented by the hosts of the TODAY show.

Viewers will have the best seats in the house as Lisa Wilkinson, Karl Stefanovic and Sylvia Jeffreys present a glittering preview of television’s night of nights and unrivalled access to a cavalcade of stars.

Then at 7.30pm the ceremony begins as Australia’s favourite television programs, presenters and actors are honoured and rewarded for their contribution to the local industry.

And in the year where we celebrate 60 years of Australian television, three of the nation’s finest home-grown music acts will take centre stage.

Superstars of the Australian recording industry Delta Goodrem, Jimmy Barnes and Conrad Sewell will all deliver what promise to be show-stopping, live performances.

• Logie winner and coach on The Voice, Goodrem will return to the Logies stage with her new single, Dear Life, the highly anticipated follow-up to the smash hit Wings.

• Barnes, one of the most popular and best-selling Australian singers of all time, will belt out In the Midnight Hour.

• Sewell, the 28-year-old music sensation who burst onto the scene in 2014 when he lent his distinctive voice to Norwegian hit-maker Kygo’s international smash, Firestone, will perform his hit single, Remind Me.

A massive lineup of stars of the small screen will take to the stage in Crown’s Palladium Ballroom to present this year’s awards. Among the guest presenters are Dave Hughes, Julia Morris, Sam Neill, Megan Gale, Eddie Perfect, Amanda Keller, Marta Dusseldorp, Stephen Curry, Matt Preston, Peter Helliar, Kitty Flanagan, Eddie McGuire, Rebecca Gibney, Hugh Sheridan, Danielle Cormack, Steve Peacocke, Patrick Brammall, Darren Gilshenan, Dan Wyllie, Lauren Jackson, Chrissie Swan, Craig McLachlan, Miranda Tapsell, Fitzy & Wippa, Leila McKinnon, Rebecca Maddern, Ed Kavalee, Simon Burke, Justine Clarke, Ray Martin, Shane Jacobson, Edwina Bartholomew, Dannii Minogue, Dr Chris Brown, Mike Willesee, and the Nine Network’s Entertainment Editor, Richard Wilkins.

The ceremony will also include the announcement of this year’s inductee into the TV Week Hall of Fame and the crowning of Australia’s most popular television personality with the coveted TV Week Gold Logie Award.

Plus, be sure to tune in to the TODAY show the following morning from 5.30am for all the chatter and Richard Wilkins’ inside scoop on what went down on the red carpet and behind the scenes when the cameras stopped rolling. Australia’s favourite breakfast program will broadcast live from Crown with unparalleled access to all the winners, grinners, and perhaps the odd straggler, from the most prestigious night on Australian television.

From Nine’s press release 18 days ago

Now the latest press release says the red carpet will air from 7pm. So it is just highlights and won’t be shown live after all.
And it’s disappointing the awards ceremony itself won’t be shown live outside the eastern states yet again. Going to be lots of spoilers on social media for viewers in NT, SA and WA.

The Logies are on in just three days away.

What is everyone’s thoughts of the ads advertising the Logies over the last week? I don’t like them. The ads are showcasing the singers (of Jimmy Barnes, Delta and Conrad) performing on the night. Then the voice-over says “and who will win the Gold”… and that’s pretty much it.

An awards ceremony that’s based on television - you’d think they show some clips of tv throughout it (just like the freeview ads). Common sense!
