If Dave Hughes is to open the Logies, as he said, can’t he just close the ceremony too? Even if he just comes on and only says: “Congratulations to ((insert name)) for winning the Gold Logie. Hope you at home enjoyed the telecast. Buy TV Week tomorrow. Goodnight”.
That’s all is needed for a host at the Logies, right? A good monologue to open the Logies, and then a simple closer at the end.
This little number gets trundled out every year but it’s still running after 58 years. You must have joined Annette Sharp’s fan club. She wrote the same thing on the weekend after nobody from any soapie was nominated for gold.
I feel like TV is wasting Bert, once he’s gone, there goes an entire era of television. I still think its special when he walks out to present it to a standing O.
Bert could have a doze during the awards and be woken up to present the gold ,most viewers at home will have also had a doze while waiting for Bert to appear!
He took the ARIA Awards by storm last year. Now, Aussie singer Conrad Sewell will be performing at the 58th TV WEEK Logie Awards.
The 28-year-old, who won the ARIA for Song Of The Year with his number one hit “Start Again”, will be keeping the biggest names in Australian TV entertained on television’s night of nights.
Conrad, whose other hit songs include “Who You Lovin” and “Remind Me”, burst onto the scene after featuring in Norwegian DJ Kygo’s massive global hit “Firestone” in 2014.
“I’m so excited and honoured to be performing at this year’s TV WEEK Logies,” Conrad says.
“I grew up watching the Logies and the incredible performances over the years. I can’t wait to share my special performance with everyone.”
According to this article Delta Goodrem will perform her brand new single Dear Life at the Logies next month. The track will be available on Friday May 6, two days before the awards.
There. We have to singers performing on the night. Leave it to just two. Sure, they’re not my cup of tea, but nonetheless, that’s all we need. Two singers on the night. Thus getting on with the actual show and awarding people a Logie.
