58th TV Week Logie Awards 2016

I agree. The promos for the Logies are slightly better than the ones used last year (or maybe it was the year before?) which looked more like promos for the ARIAs or another music awards show, but not by very much.

Last year’s “Live & Dangerous” promotional line has been trotted out again, so too the graphics packaged used during last years Logies. Not to mention the very SD footage and use of the regular Nine logo rather than the Nine HD logo (knowing that Nine has used the Nine HD logo on promos for much of it’s “major event” programing in recent times, that’s possibly an indication that the Logies will be an upconverted SD broadcast in 2016!) on the promo. Sounds like we should expect more of the same in 2016! * yawn *

Good. Who’d want to sit through 3 hours of “Who are you wearing?”

I’m sure those states are well aware of the drill by now.

You would think so… but going by some reality finales “spoiled” by some facebook sites just in the last three months, then sadly, no, some do not know the drill. Sadly, some people will just never learn about time-zones!

Sneak peak at ABC stars’ Logie red carpet looks - warning, there’s a bear in there…

Because we want to help you avoid that awkward ‘OMG - I’m wearing the same jumpsuit as Jemima’ moment and ensure that you don’t lose out to Little Ted in the ‘who wore it best?’ stakes, we are giving you a sneak peak at the looks that everybody’s favourite long serving and fashion forward ABC stars will be rocking on the red carpet at this year’s TV Week Logie Awards. And if you’re watching at home from the comfort of your couch, look out for the toys, accompanied by some your favourite Play School presenters from past and present, on the red carpet!

Hosting the Logies — the job they can’t give away

Quite a lengthy article, though nothing that hasn’t been said before.

But the absence of a big-name host going for broke — putting their career on the line — means something is missing from the Logies.

There is no sense of occasion any more. There is no sense of risk. There is no compelling reason to watch.

I don’t think it is a coincidence that the Logies ratings have been in free fall in recent years.

Newscorp just disappointed there isn’t a host because they won’t have anyone to crucify the next day in their papers.

They’ll be hoping Waleed or Lee Lin win the Gold so they can get outraged over that

yep.

Dave Hughes is essentially the ‘host’ doing the introduction and handing out gold, but obviously doesn’t want the title to go with it.

Surely Waleed doesn’t win. Otherwise i’ll be joining the Telegraph in their outrage.

Lee Lin should win!

And I shall steer clear of the site during the delayed telecast in to Adelaide :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I can save you the trouble and give you the spoilers of winners now.

They have stories on these people and shows but don’t actually list the winners of awards.

How do I put in spoiler tags?
Edit: I’ve used the other spoiler tag suggestion. Thanks, TV Cynic.

This should do the trick! Markdown Editing Help - Super User

Thanks but that didn’t seem to work and neither did the suggestion in the Issues, Ideas,Suggestions etc

[spoiler.][/spoiler.]

Not sure why the [spoler] doesn’t work. I posted another solution in the Ideas thread

Thanks, mate. That works.

Well the Red Carpet graphics are different to last year and its appears to be in HD…

The stage (form the photos I’ve seen) also appears to be more than just some LED screens this year! Fingers crossed.

What’s wrong with Waleed?
Ofc the telegraph will be outraged… Muslim, from Melbourne, writes for Fairfax, and leans to the left politically.

Wtf is going on with that live watermark on nine? It can’t really be called a watermark.

Hughesy doing pretty well. A few zingers on point.
