Isn’t this, like, the 5th or 6th consecutive survey somebody’s said 2SM is rejoining the ratings? Getting about as old as Drunko McFeely saying he has common sense.

I’m basing my assumption on Chris Smith saying in 2025 that in 2026 2SM will be re-joining the Sydney radio ratings.
He said this on-air.
If the plan is to make further changes to programming they’re better off waiting.
They’ve somehow managed to get some major companies to advertise. I don’t think the ratings will do them any favours in retaining those companies.

2sm could join the ratings game but for SRN it’s a waste, Bill had a good point metro and regional are very different .it’s up to each company west of the blue curtain to see if the content of their local station suits their business. In Sydney it seems like advertising is cheap insurance, just chuck money around.
Small business in the regions can’t do that.
What we need is a Muslim talk station that competes with 2SM. You could also have a music format with Non Stop Nasheeds

They probably do, but either streamed or on a SSB frequency, or illegally transmitted, and not in English.
Tahir and Rob Shehadie - now there’s a combo that would work well on any Sydney station.
The A team is back today.
I actually didn’t mind Jonno Lis, he did push back on callers and didn’t just let them ramble on.
Dave Wright let a lot of people carry on, mid last week he allowed a caller to go on for more than 15 minutes.
Will be interesting to see if they do re-enter the ratings this year.

Media outlets have been using cruises as a promotion device for decades. And boomers older people love them.

Chris is carrying on about Albanese has been dividing the country, I say the country has always been divided.
I think it’s ratbags like Chris and Murdoch that are turning simple differences into divisions with all the melodrama for there own purposes. Listening to Chris just feels bad.

There’s always going to be people on one side of politics or the other and they’re going to push that barrow.
I don’t have an issue with that, it’s just 3 hours per day, 5 days per week is very boring.
A few weeks ago Chris had about an hour talking about DNA and people who had been adopted, it was actually quite interesting and good radio.
If he and that network spoke about different topics and made listening interesting they might get somewhere.

We have seen a rise in the term “divisive” in recent years. I think this is what it is:
If you want to stop people criticising something, but also you know that thing is indefensible and don’t want to have to attempt to defend it, just say the issue is divisive. Australia Day is indefensible, so instead just say you don’t want division. Israel’s genocide is indefensible, so instead say you don’t want division. It’s similar to “I just don’t like protests because they make noise.”

Sampling Cheralyn Darcey, she is pretty good. The DAB of 2SM probably is the best of the commercial stations although maybe a bit distorted at the high end.

I was listening to Chris’s program today he stated that he’ll be talking about something different, electrical power…LOL, he hasn’t stopped talking about it, and his love affair for Pauline Hanson is nauseating.
