Her maiden speech lol was all about Asian immigration, ended up with egg on her face . Asian communities not only have thrived but they have assimilated..You just have to look at Marrickville Aussies Greek Vietnamese, it’s a great place for a feed.

It all plays to the base, I found it interesting to hear complaints about Muslims living in enclaves and not engaging with society, then someone else calls in complaining that Muslims are becoming mayors and getting positions of power ( which sounds like engaging to me) minority groups just can’t win on 2sm no matter what they do.

Marrickville is in Albo’s electorate. As was part of Ashfield where I lived.
Looks like Sport Day isn’t working today, since 6pm 2SM has gone all music. The sound quality is good online.
So far they have played Theme from shaft - Isaac Haynes / Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody / Heart of Glass -Blondie / If I Could - 1927 / Hold me Fleetwood Mac
Edit they just fixed it. It was nice whilst it lasted

Can’t speak for 2SM
But Gem FM Inverell has been going to emergency tape, missing IDs, music cutting off and coming back etc when I was listening to it both this morning and this afternoon
Dropped into the station for a unrelated reason and they said they didn’t know what was going on and not sure how to fix it

I’m sure it’s telstras fault, again, every region has its own dead air emergency play list but it never changes, 2el central west has been playing the same panic song list for 10 years at least, elton john isn’t death a good thing etc
I suggested that they simply change the play list once a year so people don’t notice your radio pannts are down.
But no still the same depressing stuff.
Apparently it was an issue with SEN’s end. Cheralyn did an extra hour as a result.

Satellite issue perhaps?
If that’s the case, surely the temporary fix would be to generate a music log locally, merge the ads and ID’s on to Simian and play things out locally. It would be missing an announcer, but it would sound a whole lot better than the program cutting out and in.
Slightly off topic… I remember when ARN launched their alternative rock format on 96.1 in 1998 and they had just moved to Seven Hills. There were some teething problems and sometimes the audio would stop and revert to the back up tape - unfortunately, it was still the old back up from the ONE FM days, and the first song that would play was Peter Andre’s “Gimme Little Sign” then if memory serves me correctly, A Euphoria song, might have been “Do For You”- it was always funny to hear.

I remember hearing that happen on a Saturday night not long after the launch of 9inety6ix.1. I don’t ever recall hearing the standby tape in the One FM days.
If its pulsing on other stations then its a local issue, and the serial port needs to be reset, simian locks the port if its a cheap serial PCI or usb, all that is needed is a serial reset once a day on a scheduled event and it would fix the issue, but SRN never listen
