Do not think Marcus hires on air talent.
BC clearly isn’t interested in outlaying cash if they can’t even get a sales team or producers for jocks. It’s not a proper metro operation.

What you say is true, and it’s bloody hard trying to do it alone … however, I can only work hard to improve my show with what little resources I have. I’m not complaining though, as every little ‘win’ we might have (a nice plug on Media Watch) or a lift in on line listener cumes is all the more satisfying. Who knows, when Lawsy goes I might even get an add in the paper ( I’ll design it though)
Hi Marcus, will just say I gave your show a listen the past few days and I must say I really enjoyed it. Seems more raw and real than the other talk productions out there. Hello from Brisbane!
Keep up the good work! You know what they say. You don’t need a big budget to create a great show, your show is a reflection of that!
Credit to you for your work effort. And for not being a boring right wing wannabe and treading your own path.
I second that. Marcus Paul is just what a station like 2SM needs in 2021.
Someone with old fashion radio passion. Someone who is hands on, old school & has an attitude that no task is too “beneath them” to do.
You’re only as good as the radio show you produce. And I’d have to agree that Marcus does an outstanding job given he is pretty much a one-man-army.
Just imagine what the show & station could achieve if it had the proper production, digital & sales resources behind it.
John Laws won a lifetime achievement award tonight.
Cheers mate. Thanks. Still have much to learn and will gain more experience as we go along. It’s a gig you are always growing into, and changing the way you present certain topics etc. Appreciate the kind words. Any suggestions on how to improve or ideas would be welcome! MaP
A one man army is pretty accurate. Again, not that Im complaining. In a way it’s OK as I get to experiment a bit, and don’t have programming peeps hovering over me.
As I’ve said here before, any suggestions on how and what can be improved etc I’m all ears. MP
Bring back the 2SM mobile app!
I am surprised I am saying this, but I decided to listen to 2SM Takin Sport and the news service I think is better than Nine’s radio news.
The news isn’t bad but you can tell that some of the presenters don’t have as much experience as their Nine Radio counterparts. The FM presenters are far worse. I haven’t listened to the regional super network news for a while but when I did they had different presenters for each. I never understood this as the news is recorded ahead of time and sent to each station as its broadcast at different times each hour. They could easily use the same presenter and save money.
Hey I have said it before, I’m down if 2SM want to hire me, Ill turn around the website and online/digital side of things to compete with the best of them
The mighty John Laws still going strong on air this week before Christmas while all the other stations have fill ins. Lawsy is beyond a legend at 86 and still shaking it up. I’m sure he is pulling in plenty of extra listeners this week given the hysterical ridiculous shrieking of Hadley wannabe on 2GB mornings Mark Levy.
Mark is too much of a Hadley clone that’s not a good thing necessary. He should show at least some originality. Laws gave Hadley he’s big break into talk radio as Hadley filled in for Laws on numerous occasions and doesn’t seem that appreciative toward Laws.
They need to get their money’s worth for the egotistical grossly overpaid host who thinks he is too clever for the average listener.
But why is Laws and others (like Gilbert) finishing up today and not on Christmas Eve?
Today is 2SM’s 90th Birthday.
Well done @MarcusPaul for dedicating a fair bit of his show in highlighting this occasion.
I never noticed this before but when clicking on Marcus Paul in the morning links to the facebook page which has disappeared (as mentioned in the other thread). It is a bit unusual for a webpage for an announcer to be linked to facebook. I guess we wait and see when (or if ) Marcus is back.
That link has been to the Facebook for age since Marcus started, so nothing new there.
That’s the Super Radio Network for you.
According to The Daily Telegraph, Marcus has been pulled off air amid an investigation into a quiz he ran on his program which referenced the death of schoolgirl Charlise Mutten.
