I hope 2CH staff know what they’re doing (or what their bosses are doing).

In a recent Facebook comment, Trevor Sinclair said to a listener that the switch to DAB+ only is “scheduled prior to the end of October”.

Umm… RadioToday reports that 1170 SEN will launch late next week.

So why aren’t 2CH telling their listeners this so they can set their DAB+ radios to be ready?

A large banner on the 2CH website & daily mentions on their social media would be a good way to build awareness of the changeover date.

I remember the 2KY stint well . Thought it was morning on Sundays 9 to 12. Sheridan appeared as well and sometimes her sister. Family affair. Bob introduced me to Jane Olivor’s music.

I thought SEN 1170 would launch on Monday however rereading the above.

“1170 SEN Sydney will now launch “later next week” ahead of a big finish to the Australian sports calendar, including footy finals, State of Origin, Big Bash and the Australia v India Test series.”

A bit vague it was originally going to be Monday. Maybe its like Thursday.

Certainly before this coming weekend. According to Rob Duckworth today is the last of the religious content. Maybe a delay with the new North Sydney studios.

I will tune in on Thursday morning just of interest and then turn 1170 off for good. That is until they fail!

In my view they should just switch off 1170 Classic Hits today and play a recorded message to tune in via DAB or via the App etc.

2CH staff had a lunch on Friday for some of their colleagues who are believed to be departing as the music station makes the switch. It is believed both Rob Duckworth and Kayley Harris could no longer be heard on weekends. SEN is believed to be keeping Tim Webster in the breakfast slot.

Listening via a Sydney SDR from http://rx.linkfanel.net/ it appears that 1170 is just static at the moment? I compared with 1269 2SM and 702 ABC and they’re fine so it definitely sounds like they’ve switched it off already.

Just checked my radio here in Sydney & 2CH is still on-air on 1170 as of 1:25pm AEDT.

Its on air 2ch 1170. I forget how much older everyone is in the photo! Radio does a great job of masking the age. I still have a picture of Tim Webster (in my mind) in the 90s on Ten. People can sound great in their 60s/70s. John Laws does sound a bit older and so did Bob Rogers but hey thats to be expected. I wish I can sound as good as that in my 80s and 90s if I am lucky enough to make it that is :slight_smile: .
