2025 Tasmanian State Election - Media Coverage

WIN News has been doing Facebook updates of things but nothing on TV and no reporters or anything just uploads of the speeches.

As for the ABC I hate how the Greens really seem to infiltrate the background and doing all that stuff. I just find it frustrating and immature and just makes me more anti Green than Cassy O’Connor makes me. You could have 99 out of 100 people vote in favour of the stadium and she would still call it BS. The whole PoSS process she fought against and they lied the whole campaign about it all.

Sky News was entertaining because Rebecca White looked like she was going to cry all the time.

Time for liberals and Labor to just form a government and get on with things.

Give the speakership to a green and an independent or two minister for arts or parks or something, and roll the dice…HA!

Brad Stansfield on 7 was an appallingly weird choice and harder to listen to than Abetz. 7 cut away from the last part of the greens leaders speech which I’ve not seen them do in previous years. ABC presenters seem to be much easier on the greens and independents than libs or labor during interviews.

:backhand_index_pointing_up:This.

Sky coverage finished just before their 11pm news. ABC finishing at 11:03

Yes and even Richard Herr seemed a bit grumpier than usual about another election. I don’t blame him though! Brad I was expecting more from but it was just weird.

As for the ABC yes, there’s a couple who are very undercover Green especially on the radio and Ryk Goddard and Leon are two of them.

Did 7 Tas do much coverage after the 7pm program finished?

Liberals claim victory. Labor doesn’t concede.

Sounds normal for the LNP. I wouldnt have been surprised if Dutton had of tried it if he had won his seat. Dutton and Rockcliff has the same level of arrogance as Donald Trump

7News Melbourne’s Blake Johnson filed a report from Hobart on the election aftermath.

To be fair the anti-stadium crossbench makes it so that Rockliff would be likely premier anyway…

It would be likely to be a government that cant govern again. And be another election.

Back to the polls in 2026? If so, I can see this government lasting one more year before yet another no confidence motion against Rockliff. Hopefully not though.

I may not be from Tasmania but Tasmanians have already had enough of this constant merry-go-round. Every year they’re literally forced back to the polls. Tasmania just seems to be the laughing stock of Australia at this rate.

It’s time to just form government and get on with the job. Serve the full 4-year term. Easy.

And don’t forget @Leo_Puglisi6 at 6 News for their online coverage!

What would they do with a random Saturday each year if they dont head to the polls?

In my defence, if it eventuates (which is looking probable) it will fill another evening on ABC News channel
