I don’t think they have anyone checking the telegram receiver in Wollongong on weekends ![]()
No Antony Green and with Eric Abetz, Leon Compton and Cassy O’Connor even the ABC has sucked the last bit of joy of elections that I had out of me.
No Credlin on Sky? Might be one of the only chances in recent years where she wouldn’t be sitting there with a face like a cat’s arse.
Was 7’s show just a long news bulletin? Or was it separate?
Costs too much to pay her for a small market like Tassie I suspect
Whilst never been to the tally room in Hobart, I know people who have, and I do get the impression the people in the background are not managed, you can kind of wander past TV crews and flip the bird at will…
Tasmanian politics in action!
She hasn’t been involved with the last Tasmania election, or the WA election earlier this year - I guess she only does elections for the larger states, or she chooses which one’s she does.
They only broadcast their local news on weekdays. Not on weekends. You’ll have to wait until Monday to find out if there’s anything about it from WIN.
I’m aware. But I would have thought on election night they could have put together some news updates.
Bloody hell this ABC panel has lost the plot ![]()
Who doesn’t love a good Abetz/O’Connor word fight!
Hats off to the ABC and SWM for the TV coverage, and to Pulse for the online coverage..
Just as entertaining as James McGrath banging on about the pre-polls in the federal election ![]()
And ABC Radio as well for covering the audio department
Legally I don’t think they have to as Seven and the ABC (and Sky News and 6 News for that matter) are already covering or have covered the 2025 Tasmanian State Election. Any coverage tonight on WIN regarding the Tassie election would’ve been coming from Nine’s metropolitan Melbourne news.
If anything, WIN News are only active 5 days a week, then they are gone for the weekends. It’s the same with 7NEWS Regional NSW/QLD, local bulletins on weeknights at 6pm, and Sydney and Brisbane news on weekends respectively.
Legally they don’t have to do this but they still do.
You would think on a state election night they would at least put together some updates to support their news brand.
I wouldn’t think that at all, it’s WIN we are talking about.
WIN mainly cares about Wollongong. Even though they have a news presence in Tasmania, don’t think viewers in Hobart don’t know where WIN comes from. The smart ones know where WIN comes out of.
Not sure about that…It was very public, and very visible WIN were moving to Wollongong in Hobart.
Hobart had a long proud history of supporting TVT6/TAS TV/WIN Tasmania news when ‘presented’ from Hobart. The presenters were genuine Tasmanian celebrities and when WIN effectively exited the Tasmanian news space, so did that support.
As a Hobartian, the WIN news product is actually not bad, it suffers however from a poor timeslot and a dominate competitor which they helped create…
