Probably the Sky News After Dark hosts who will be looking for any opportunity to bash the hell out of Labor in their programs :stuck_out_tongue:

Nice ABC let one of the local presenters do it this time round. For the last 2 elections, Greg Jennet presented it, and for many years prior Kerry O’Brien did it.

Wonder if they will be in a studio this time as well? In 2020, the coverage was based from Sydney, with a panel in the Darwin news studio (using a modified desk), and in 2016 they did an OB at Parliament House. Earlier election were done in the tally room.

This year the NT election will be an outside broadcast.
The previous election was restricted with COVID travel restrictions so was a Darwin/Sydney hybrid broadcast since the team could not travel into the NT.
The 2024 election will be done from the Darwin Convention Centre / waterfront precinct.

No announcements for coverage from Nine…??

First time in decades if NTD won’t do any sort of election night coverage.

there’s an article a few posts back about it. (oh edit: sorry that was radio).

but the TV guides have standard ABC coverage you’d expect.

Surly an update or something? Get Charles to do it from the set in Canberra!

Still no update on ABC Darwin website today, but I think the station (as well as Local Radio stations in regional NT) will cut away at 6pm ACST sharp, during 3rd quarter of the Hawthorn-North Melbourne match, for election broadcast.

Last time ABC Darwin didn’t even have election coverage - they just had crosses to Adam Steer in the studio during the breaks in the AFL.

Sources say Nine won’t be covering NT election this year.

TBH not surprised given it would’ve been impossible to do so with just two reporters on the ground.

And they wonder why people turn to the ABC for stuff like elections.
