10 Play

Not sure if related to the bumping of the show to earlier in 10’s daytime schedule, but the Drew Barrymore FAST channel has disappeared from 10 play.

I’m starting to wonder if Drew Barrymore is just a short term place holder for the soaps and potentially the new soap in January because that will take up 3hrs?

A new FAST channel has been added, old CBS series Rescue 911 which aired from the late 80’s / early-mid 90’s.

10 are so useless, watching Hunted on the 10 play live stream and have now just seen for the third time an ad for The Dog Academy which says it’s airing at 8:45pm tonight.

:man_facepalming:t2:

Happened again right now during Neighbours.

Guess Tom and the team have been dumped lol.

Just aired during The Peoject then too.

Just watching Hunted on 10play…all the ad breaks are filled with 10 and Paramount+ promos. No commercial inventory for one of their major shows. :grimacing:

Watching Lunchtime news today and there was a sponsor board returning to the bulletin which was “brought to you by 10 play”… obviously not much inventory during the day either.

And it was just shown again (9:15pm) on the Adelaide stream, despite HYPBA airing for the past 30 minutes.

Lean times at Paramount.

Paramount will also retire the 10 Play brand in 2025, simply calling both its live linear offering and the on-demand service 10.

Very interesting move to retire the brand.
I can kinda see why they are doing this - the future of streaming our linear services is online.

But this will definitely cause confusion about how a show can be streamed such as the 10Play-only titles… “Stream on 10 online”?

Interesting move there, in-line with what they’re doing in the UK.

I think the transition will really depend on how the message is told to audiences “Tonight at 7:30, or catch-up anytime on the 10 app” or something.

They’ll need to be smart with how they deal with this.

The lines are blurring already between watching or streaming a channel or its content, it makes sense to have the one brand. It’s what is happening in the UK at the moment with Channel 4 and 5.

How does the UK manage shows which are on the linear service vs only online?

They might just tag everything ‘10 - Live and on demand’.

This may also give an opportunity for PlutoTV to breath by itself, if they are wanting to expand that platform.

This is where I am wondering about how they’ll approach this. If it’s anything like @David 's issue yesterday - Wheel of fortune was on 10 but apparently not available to stream on 10Play

Though was that just catch-up, as in it hasn’t been made available to stream yet? Haven’t seen any confirmation it wasn’t being live streamed on 10 play.

Not uncommon though, Law & Order SVU isn’t available to stream or catch-up on 10 play cause they won’t fork out for the rights to do this. Happens with some movies outside their library at times too.

I’m referring to “catching up”, sorry. But its still under the 10Play umbrella

Gotcha. I think the thing though is that they just don’t mention it right, ignorance is bliss type of thing.

Wheel of Fortune US isn’t getting promo’d, so it probably doesn’t matter. L&O they just drop the 10play logo from the standard promo template and the voiceover just says the timeslot on linear.

Seems to rarely happen when something isn’t available to stream/catch-up so not a big concern for them?
