The fact that Ten’s channels aren’t streaming 24/7 (or as rights allow) is mediocre in itself

Just caught up on This Is Us, it streamed perfectly and best of all there was not a single ad played before or during the entire episode - if only it always worked that well I’d very happily use the catch-up more often. Now they just need to get rid of the oversized & unecessary tenplay at the top RHS.

Yeah. They’re usually so hopeless that they’ll have promos for the next episode which has spoilers for the current episode you are watching.

I actually find Tenplay the best out of the three commercial networks catch up services. I watch the news and I’m A Celeb via the live stream most nights and it is glitch free touch wood. The only gripe I have with the live stream is the content during the ad breaks is extremely repetitive.

Ten should be on the 24/7 live stream train by now.

I primarily use the live streaming to catch some of the 5pm news, but the repetitive Family Fued & Living Room ‘best bits’ are starting to wear thin - the volume instantly gets turned down when they come on. I would honestly prefer them to sell advertising across terrestrial tv / tenplay so they could just broadcast whatever goes to air normally across their live stream.

Someone has forgotten to add The Great Indoors to Tenplay , it doesn’t show on the Tenplay app on the Telstra TV. I used the email address on the contact us section on there but no change.

It shows on the website. All Ten’s etc shows are on Tenplay on the TTV but it seems like someone has forgotten to upload it ?

Has Ten announced any plans to live stream all of their channels 24/7 via Tenplay?

Not yet. Still waiting for tendaily

Is it worth it though?

Looking at the new LIVE streaming numbers - ratings of 1,000 nationally for many streams. The highest rated normal program was 5,000 extra national viewers for an episode of Home and Away. Even MKR only draws 3,000. Everything on iView below 1,000.

all I can think of is that they don’t have the rights to it.

That makes no sense as why would they have rights to stream on Tenplay’s website but no on the exact same app on the Telstra TV ?

Tenplay Is a joke. Why wouldn’t u live stream any ads during the coverage? They don’t live stream any US shows. One can’t simulcast Family Feud as this is mostly under Ten. There’s no 24-hour stream of 11. I don’t know why?
Alas, people can’t stream the V8 Virgin Aus Supercars championship on Tenplay. There’s no replay of the coverage as it is under Fox.

I think we should all know why Ten won’t be doing fulltime online streaming of it’s channels anytime soon: WIN Television, the same regional network which ended it’s longtime partnership with Nine due to their online streaming of channels and the failed legal action by WIN to stop it.

If Ten do have rights to any International Shows, Put them on Ten Play First.

Since WIN lost the court action, TEN shouldn’t have anything to fear from doing so?
The precedent had been set.

There’s a good chance WIN got a clause in their affiliation agreement about streaming.

Ten probably weren’t going to do so anyway so it wouldn’t have been much of a loss to give such a concession.

Ten have added live streaming capabilities for some of its daytime cooking shows including My Market Kitchen & Good Chef Bad Chef as well as some Bold and the Beautiful specials which air this coming Thurs & Fri before the regular episode at 4:30pm. It’s also streaming weekend lifestyle series Healthy Homes Australia and previously mentioned Food Lab with Ben Melbourne which also airs on the main channel. This takes their average all inclusive steaming to about 7 hours worth of content daily, it’s nothing like the other networks 24/7streams but it’s getting there.

Another sign gen are just so behind other media companies. It’s really a tragic fall from grace. Pathetic really. I don’t really see ten surviving in the next 20 years. Especially if they gut their newsrooms like it’s rumored.

I do have to say that TenPlay has improved for me in recent times. I was so disappointed by it whenever I tried it last year but have dared to try it again this year and there are definite improvements.

The placement of ad breaks in shows is still a bit clunky but I sort of have just got used to that. But at least now shows don’t drop out three quarters of the way through and then have the player tell me that my browser isn’t compatible… like what was I just watching for the last 30 minutes?!?

So I’m definitely not having to reload or restart program streams anymore which was a major pain in the butt before.

Just tried watching the Live Streaming again of The Project. The advert breaks are try awful. Two government community service announcements. One played six times in the same ad break and the other one played three times. This is rubbish.
