Those soaps were axed in 1993 and 1999. I doubt there would be any interest in repeats from past decades. A lot of those shows don’t hold up well in 2024.
That’s the only other soap still in production but that show hasn’t screened in Australia for a long, long time.
I cannot see a new channel dedicated to soapies either. They can easily slot them on Peach or Bold during the day if needed. Instead of endless repeats of Diagnosis Murderer and Jake and the Fatman etc on Bold, and Becker, Rules of Engagement, Deal or No Deal etc on 10Peach.
Scheduling on all of the multichannels, particularly 10 have become lazy. When they were first launched they were half decent, now its endless repeats of the same shows…
Sad, but true. All multichannels started off well. Most are now lazy, and yes, particularly 10.
Does 10Peach actually air anything new these days? I know they have the very random scheduling of The Matilda / Socceroos Magazine Show when there’s an upcoming match to be played. And that’s about it. There’s Neighbours, which is a repeat, but at least its a “2-hour repeat” from 10 main’s channel, and not decades old like other shows they air.
I presume it didn’t cost much to get The Drew Barrymore Show but it’s crazy to put it on daily, then repeat all the episodes over the weekend, when they’re old episodes. I saw part of an episode this week and they were talking about the upcoming Valentines Day. Surely more recent eps would be better, such as with The Stephen Colbert show.
The weekend episodes are scheduled in the same vein as Neighbours and Studio 10 in the past. They are an omnibus to fill in that time at limited to no additional cost for the network.
The 2024 MTV Video Music Awards will get a FTA screening this Thursday (September 12) at 8.30pm. It is streamed live on Paramount+ on Thursday morning.
More info on the VMAs (note the press release has the old event date)
The Neighborhood and also the final season of Nancy Drew will return next month.
As far as I can tell, aside from a new season of Impractical Jokers up its sleeve, that is the last remaining ‘new’ programming that is sitting on the shelf for 10 Peach.
I don’t watch 10 peach but surely they will finally have to change the direction of the channel buy some new shows like how it was when the channel was eleven 11 way back in 2011-14?
But that said, I hardly find Grant Denyer funny AND the only thing I find remotely funny about the reality tv encores they screen on there is the number of times the same episodes air, the Neighbours is about as funny as a dead body at a Christmas party
