I think the channel currently label 10Peach needs to be something that makes sense. Eleven did as it was more or less 10+1 being one channel above 10. Another name that could make more sense is 10Reserve, which would be like a reserve channel for extra encores and programs that cannot air on the main channel for some reason such as scheduling conflicts etc. In reality that is what is happening with 10Bold and 10Peach already.
That sounds worse than 10Peach.
Iād go for 10Pop or 10Zoom. Even 10Shake was better than 10Peach.
I suspect they have an option for a second run which must start within 24 hours of the first airing.
What shows should channel 10 put on this channel to make it better?
I donāt understand this whole discussion about āmaking the channel betterā.
Based on the multichannel ratings we received last week, Peach is still doing quite well amongst the multichannels (granted we only saw one days ratings), so it seems like 10 know their audience.
And it rated fairly well when we use to get daily multichannel data IIRC, and the content would be fairly cheap, so 10 would surely be satisfied with how the channel is performing, even if it is just repeats of shows with the odd movie and Neighbours thrown into the schedule.
Eleven used to have a variety of shows back when it first started. There have always been repeats but nothing like it is now. Iām surprised that lots of people watch this channel considering most shows are on a loop of repeating like Becker and Frasier. Most people maybe leave the channel on in the background as I donāt know how anyone can watch the same show a million times over. In my opinion, Eleven was a far better channel than 10 Peach is now.
Well, obviously they were new shows to Eleven when it first started. There are only so many new shows produced every year. Where are they supposed to find more new shows?
10 Peach is programmed like a fast channel. You know that you will get a US comedy every 30 minutes when you turn it on. You donāt have to think about which comedy or which episode - itās just there. The comedies are actually some of the more expensive ones (Friends, Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men). It does well especially in the demos. You can see that some programs get listed in the top 30 (because they have a high reach value).
I think itās just the poor naming of the channel that people want to be fixed.
10 Peach was an alright name by multichannel standards (IMO should be 10 Gold with the āgolden showsā to complement 10 Bold but thatās a rant for another day), itās just the stretchening of it to 10 Peach Comedy (and while Iām at it, 10 Bold Drama), was unnecessary and makes it feel limited as a m/c, and what it can air.
10 Peach is still a better name then 7Flix, as letās face it, the C-grade programs on that channel and 7 flops but its still calls itself Flix. And we donāt hate on itās name (much). So cut 10 Peach Comedy some slack.
But yes, Eleven did feel a bit more cohesive with the 10 brand than Peach does if Iām being honest.
10 Peach rant over.
The Neighborhood season 5 starts tomorrow (December 2) at 3.30pm.
The final season of Nancy Drew also premieres tomorrow, at 11pm.
Both shows will air every weekday in their respective timeslots.
I know these shows donāt attract large audiences in primetime slots, but surely they can schedule them better than 3:30pm /11pm respectively.
