That earlier post of that Olympics set gave me hope they weren’t going to use curved screen 1 or 2 at any point in time for their coverage, but obviously not to be… Wouldn’t be a live TVNZ show without a curved screen in the background

Agreed, the only thing that bugs me with the main news set and the massive curved screen, is seeing the portrait plasma screen that gets used for breakfast news mainly. It ruins the overall look, esthetic, maybe if they had another element to that side of the set for those wide shots

That is what has always bothered me the lack of any set elements to tie the monitor to anything even the desk.

Superb coverage on the Pacific Dawn Raids apology by Barbara Dreaver on 1 News at Six this evening. In a media environment where many skilled and experienced journalists are lured away to PR (much better pay and better working conditions), reporters like Barbara are a huge asset to TVNZ.
