This is why people move to archive.org tbh
DMCA/Copyright checks run on all videos, even private.
Ire? Why spend with them if youâre not getting value for money!
YouTube will introduce a 30-second non-skippable ad on connected TVs through YouTube Select â a reserved inventory across the top 5% of popular channels in any region.
The offering will launch locally next month, with content across events such as AFL, NRL, the Australian Open and Coachella.
Further down the track, YouTube will introduce a Pause experience on connected TV in 2024, by showing a static ad side-by-side to the video when users choose to pause.
Note: I do use ad blocker at home when watching YouTube videos. I hate ads interrupting long videos such as sporting highlights, movies or TV shows.
I was wondering when they were going to do it given they havenât put the price up for me in the past, but itâs a huge whack vs the $9.99 I am currently paying, though they are giving a long amount of notice -
Still at this price point Google should be throwing in some extras like more Drive storage or something - would cost them near nothing to do but would make it feel like Iâm getting better value than just paying $6 more.
I still donât get the point in YT premium. Get that you wonât have ads but other than that what else do you get?
- Download videos to watch offline (can be done for free using a YT to mp4 converter online)
- Videos can play in background picture to picture (some browsers can do this for free as well)
- YT music premium included in subscription (their answer to Spotify, and Spotify Premium respectively)
So pretty much, most of this stuff can be done for free.
Yeah⌠No thanks.
Iâm currently paying $14.99, if mine goes to to $16.99, i can live with that, but agree that I would like to see Google come up with some new extras given they rely on others to create the content.
It may block adblockers now, but you can find simple scripts and use plugins like tampermonkey and it blocks the ads seamlessly still.
https://9to5google.com/2024/01/13/youtube-new-wave-slow-downs-ad-blocker/
YouTube recently started slowing down its entire site whenever ad blockers are used. A new wave of slowdowns is hitting users, with the only resolutions being disabling the ad blocker or upgrading to premium.
This information is incorrect. Reported that the developers of AdBlock and AdBlock Plus have acknowledged it is a problem with code in the latest version of both blockers - so older versions are impacted and it effects more than just You Tube. An update has been released.
As posted in the other thread.
