Have got use to deleting spam comments on my YouTube channel but now have started getting non-English spam. Usually don’t need a translation to see they are not legitimate content and the type of content they are promoting.
Can’t understand what benefit there is given the narrow curated media focus of the channel and the videos they are targeting - not exactly “influence” level content
For every existing channel — YouTube says there are billions — the platform will create a matching URL (i.e., youtube.com/@handle) that will direct visitors to the channel page. Previously, only creators with 100 or more subscribers were eligible for a custom URL. For everyone else, the URL for their YouTube channel has been a hashed unique ID, comprising a random string of alphanumeric characters.
Over the coming weeks YouTube will be introducing handles to make it easier for members of the community to find and connect with each other. Your handle will be unique to your channel and will be how people mention you in comments, community posts, and more.
The package is only for YouTube subscribers in the US, Australian fans will still need NFL Game Pass or have access to ESPN to watch NFL games.

Google passes the buck on YouTube
YouTube is quietly attempting to shift the costs of some of its regulatory fees and taxes on to third-party media organisations, in a move that could add millions of dollars of additional charges to companies that use the video-sharing platform’s content.
YouTube, which is owned by Google, outlined the changes under “country pass-throughs”, which are charges associated with third-party rights, fees and taxes, with the unexpected policy tweak raising serious concerns across the media industry.
Currently, media companies that use YouTube content are not required to pay these charges, however the changes could have costly consequences for Australian media outlets once they begin.

There’d be ways to counteract that - such as through the ad engine sending back a token on the completion of the ad, to validate the play occurred before allowing the main video to stream, or shifting to dynamically encoding the ads within the video stream.
I’m all for them doing so, content has to be sustainable - that means either you pay up for premium or you watch ads to fund creators and the massive cost of streaming that video to you.
Nope. Ad blockers will remain on all my decides for the foreseeable future. I’m not on YouTube to watch ad.

The fact it had at least 15 years worth of HD (where available) captures from SEQ was helpful to see how it all worked up there.
I feel really sorry for TVCynic, that’s more than 15 years of their work down the drain.
