Looking at those ratings results for Seven, looks like they have a Winning Arvo on their hands after all. ![]()
However in the afternoon there is really only one program part where Seven is ahead - around 2 - 3 pm.
Seven’s Winning Arvo has improved a little since it began late last year.
Still tough competition at midday. First with the Winter Olympics Highlights. And now Married at First Sight (repeats). Will see how the 12pm battle goes in Q2 when Married finishes up.
The 4pm News battle has been more closer than usual lately. The 3pm hour (The Chase UK vs Tipping Point UK) seems narrower than usual too, but still slightly behind.
On a side note: hard to compare some timeslots due to ABC’s erratic starting time, but looks like some of 10’s daytime shows beat the ABC’s…
I noticed some good results for Seven in the afternoon slots yesterday. Here are the comparisons.

Hard to compete against Married Encore at 12pm, but Blankety Blank and Bridge of Lies did well - beating Nine’s Explore TV filler and Pointless. Fairly close too (compared to last year) between The Chase UK and Tipping Point UK, and even closer between Seven and Nine’s 4pm News.
10’s 12pm hour. Nothing to see here…
New seasons of Blankety Blank (12/04) and Bridge of Lies (11/04) are starting soon in the UK
Time is Money is hosted by Sara Davies. It premiered on ITV on January 1 this year.
Time Is Money premieres on Monday 4 May at 1:00 PM..
Worth noting that Seven News With Alex Cullen is not listed in the schedule anymore from that day.
That was short lived.
Hopefully “Time is Money” does well for the 1pm slot.
Not really surprised though with Seven News with Alex Cullen being out of the schedule at 1pm. He will probably just continue with Sport at Noon, and normal news updates instead.
Or maybe this show will fill the hour rather than 50 mins like Blankety Blanks. Alex may still do a 1pm update like the 2pm and 3pm ones he currently does.
Sounds good!
So…is Winning Arvo still a thing?
Seven News With Alex Cullen is in at 1pm in the actual listings for next week
From Monday 4 May Seven News With Alex Cullen has been cut back to 2 minutes in the schedule.
Questions - what is the value of a 2 minute update following a one hour news bulletin. Presume no time for local updates in the “bulletin”. Due to the short time, it shouldn’t appear in the ratings.
From Monday:
The 1:02 PM timelsot is:
Monday Time Is Money (S01 E01)
Tuesday Time Is Money
Wednesday Time Is Money
Thursday Beat The Chasers UK (Season 2 repeat)
Friday 1:00 PM - Movie
I still struggle to see the point in this formate.
Pointless - for a news update to even make the schedule is so unusual.
Surely would cost Seven more money to schedule this way than before with reality encores and movies.
