I don’t understand this. Is it a news update every hour, or a short bulletin?
Because judging this, The Chase is still at 3pm??

Funny reading those headlines about them not wanting to “screw this up” like 10News+, but this just seems cheap with very repeatable headlines every hour?

Wait i’m so confused what is it???

Sounds just like alternating news/game show all afternoon. And I guess if they ever need to go into rolling coverage they can just drop the game show.

Who knows if this is in the right sub forum lol

We don’t have a “Shit Ideas” sub forum, so here is probably safe

So game shows with 15 minute news updates?
Sounds similar to what we have currently IMO
There better not be infomercials

Strange to follow one hour of news at noon with yet more.

Surprised there are just updates from Alex; was expecting a full bulletin.

(Technically) nailed it.

Wait until Chase is done and dusted, and then we can do a TOTH update at 5 too.

The premise is basically “You’re never more than one hour away from a news update”.

And should ease programming cut-ins if news breaks. (At least I hope, not ABC’s “entire program must air no matter what” style.)

So, a few new UK game shows with news updates on the hour?

The name is so cringe…

The idea isn’t so bad but what’s the point of hiring Alex Cullen for 3x news updates when they could just get Natarsha Belling or someone else to do it for less?

You should be able to win things by watching

I feel like ‘Winning Arvo’ is a brand for the afternoon, made up of 7News bulletins and the various games shows.

Doesn’t sound like that’s the name of the show?

That is correct. It is a programming block, not a “show” per se.

1pm to 6pm (It’s news after so might as well extend it to 7…)

So does Alex present Melbourne’s 4pm news now?

Or is he just the update man?

And I suppose he would fill in for Tarsh when she is away?

Begs the question… you could probably have the one person for the whole afternoon (from midday).

Wouldn’t surprise me. I remember seeing them test the midday news graphics on the Melbourne set before this set was launched.

I’m confused. It reads ther are now two more news bulletins and two game shows sandwiched in-between. Don’t see how this will compete well against the really strong UK Tipping Point and the behemoth at 5pm Tipping Point Australia.

Even 10’s afternoon lineup seems stronger than whatever this is.
