WIN News

You should’ve known that a vague statement like

would send the MS alarm bells :rotating_light::rotating_light::rotating_light: off

I’d think a slight graphics update but that would make no sense when you specified WIN Tasmania lol

An update to HD equipment, exciting stuff.

I thought WIN News has been HD for years? Or is this getting more of the field cameras/editing to be HD?

Well WIN used to follow Nine’s metro look a lot closer, departing from the rest of the WIN bulletins. That only stopped when they centralised to Wollongong - losing this cursed combo of Nine and Ten…

It made sense to do that when making a composite bulletin, but otherwise there’s not much point.

Maximal extent of what I’d expect to see here might be doing the Tasmania news live for the time around the election and announcement of the AFL team details.

I reckon that’s probably it, moreso with the AFL launch so I reckon there will be a live cross to that.

WIN local packages are still all 576i in Tasmania. The desk shots are 1080.

Not sure which street it was… but I wouldn’t trust any further info from there again haha. No changes from my lounge room.

Interesting looks like they used audio extender in their video editing software to extend the closing music. But some interesting footage none the less.

They have a full version so not sure why they’d need to alter/extend it

But the editor might not have?

seems odd they wouldn’t have access to their full theme?

What was the change in Tasmania?

Back when WIN News SA was a thing (over a decade ago now!), they did this on the closing theme all the time to make it extend however long they wanted it to.

They may not, cost control and all that. There are other parts of it which AFAIK they haven’t used in probably over 5+ years now.

Well the change wasn’t as instant as Monday, but WIN Tasmania have (finally) upgraded to HD cameras.

PTC from yesterday vs today. Only 1 crew seems to be using the new kit so far, I imagine the other few aren’t far off.
