Wouldn’t the 60 years of win news better sutied for the Wollongong area and not the whole win news network areas? . Win news here in victoria isnt 60 years old. Win news only started in 1996 here in victoria . I think
Technically WIN News Vic is 61 years old, in Shepparton anyway as GMV6 started in 1961 and eventually became Vic TV and then WIN in 1994. BTV6 Ballarat launched in 1962 and the 2 stations were merged in about 1989. They still had separate news bulletins but the callsigns merged. I agree, showing a report with old Illawarra footage and presenters is pointless but I doubt WIN would be bovvered to create individual promos/stories with local archive footage for each region.
WIN News started in late 1994 in Victoria and Tasmania under the brand WIN News but they had a different name before that.
was news centre 6 then Vic News
full disclosure they should have clarified that 60 yearswas for Wollongong. and not everywhere else. It thought it was a little rich saying that they continue to bring regional viewers the best in local news, even when their own affilate, the 9 network think they could do better.
Yesterday wot only WIN New’s birthday but also Lincoln Humphries.
You could almost believe this was a real exchange with Adam Straney at the end of the bulletin
I reckon it may be a good time to spice up the graphics and make improvements to the graphics now that WIN News is celebrating 60 years in the Wollongong area
Graphics is the least of their problems right now.
But the graphics look very tired and dull. It sure needs a vast improvement
Yes, unlike the first affiliation swap where they slightly changed their graphics, this time they decided not to bother and the only thing changed was the watermark.
The “watermark” hasn’t changed since the 10 affiliation.
It has, as the region name was removed. Other than that it is mostly the same.
TVT6 would be the oldest station followed by GMV6. Using that logic, that would mean that ADS is the oldest station in network 10, though ATV’s technically is the oldest as it was the founding station.
No. TVT6 was first, then GLV10. Two weeks after GLV launched BCV8 and GMV6 launched.
Have never been a part of the WIN Network.
WIN News, using the same graphics for what feels like 60 Years.
Because they were Part of the Southern Cross Network that Started as TV8 around 1982, Six Years Later they added TNT9 in Launceston and The Rest was History.
If that’s the case WIN will struggle to get many viewers to watch the news with the same graphics
