WIN News

they would probably air Family Feud or nothing news wise

And just to think that 5 years ago, TEN had the most news output in the country :frowning:

That didn’t last long did it?

I know that Grant Denyer used to be a news reporter and weather presenter, but since when did Family Feud become a news program?!

I remember around a decade ago, Ten had Early News, Morning News, 5pm News and Late News as well as Sport Tonight, Meet The Press and maybe one or two others.

With the affiliation change, WIN are going to go from a situation where they’re affiliated with the commercial network who currently runs the most news output in the country to the one that has the least…

2011:

  • Morning News
  • 5PM
  • Late News
  • Sports Tonight
  • Meet The Press
  • Weekend News
    (as you mentioned, PLUS):
  • Evening News
  • 6PM/6.30 with George Negus
  • Local weekend news + national bulletin
I guess you could also count The Project into this list as well.

I can’t see any regional area supporting three competing news services - especially when they’ll likely all be at 6.

I’d predict the following based on that:
Gippsland
Western Victoria
Bendigo/Shepparton combined
Canberra
Wollongong
Tasmania

Exiting Queensland entirely, dropping the Central West/Albury bulletins where Prime7 compete, and consolidating in Victoria.

I would hope the Government would step up with higher local content quotas as part of any agreement to remove the reach rule.

What is the music on that promo?

It kinda sounds like
The music you’d use on kids show promos.
Magical world
Or Disney or something

Not a news promo.

The WIN marketing team at work!

Most weekends Sydney news updates are aired into Queensland from what I’ve witnessed.
Yes, every weekend regional QLD receives Nine News Sydney updates at 8 and 9 pm. During the week it is the WIN News team.

Queensland promo for new 5pm - 7.30pm line up.

Queensland promo for new 5pm - 7.30pm line up.
So the WIN News teams are going to be the same?

It’s the new WIN News theme once they’re not allowed to use Cool Hand Luke!

Hopefully, WIN News will use some variant of the current Ten Eyewitness News theme music after July 1.

Although knowing WIN, I won’t be surprised if a random piece of production music plucked from the Audio Network library is used!

Survey Says Family Feud will still be shown on One and Eleven while WIN News airs at 6.

Is it confirmed AAL at 7am?
They should replay the 6pm news from night before at 6 and 6:30am (back to back) then AAL.

Shame ten don’t at least have a rolling news bulletin from 6-8:30am. Reasons as to why are obvious.

All Australian News says 7am listing for it on Foxtel TV guide

odds they’ll just use the 2005 theme, since that’s what they’re doing with Nine.

haha! I suggested All Australian News weekday mornings!

I thin they need to change the name though

WIN Morning News

Hopefully there is a weather flipper and news ticker
