Melissa Russell presented sport as per usual in Queensland on Friday night as well. Assuming she did all SNSW bulletins, that totals 10 sports bulletins in one night.

Tanya Dendrinos has been presenting in Victoria this week with Jordan Matthews on sport, hence her absence on SNSW weather reports.

She must present Queensland sport from Wollongong all the time?

That’s correct. I believe the first bulletins from Wollongong started on the 17th July which were Townsville, Cairns and Sunshine Coast, followed by Rocky on July 20, Toowoomba on July 25 and Wide Bay on July 27.

However Melissa was in Queensland presenting between June 19 and July 14, maybe getting audiences familiar with her.

Wait, so WINs QLD bulletins are also coming from Wollongong nowadays?
Honestly, I haven’t watched a WIN News bulletin nearly all year, so I haven’t even seen it to see if there are any differences noticeable.

Pretty odd to think over the last few years the Rockhampton market has gone from having the bulletin recorded locally, to recorded on the Sunshine Coast, to now being recorded in southern NSW!

The desk, playout music for ad breaks and the daytime updates no longer being presented from the newsroom are essentially the only things that give it away. Since weather is still done from Maroochydore the old theme that Queensland used to use on playouts has occasionally slipped through.

I’ve also seen a few OTS graphics for organisations such as Cancer Council where they use the NSW logo instead of QLD’s

It was pointless for WIN to construct a purpose-built facility on the Sunshine Coast in 2012 to only de-decentralise to Wollongong five years down the track.

Does Lincoln still present News from Sunshine Coast or does he appear at the desk with Melissa (indicating being at Wollongong aswell)?

They appear on screen together.

So Lincoln must have moved to Wollongong as well, like Bruce Roberts and they must’ve shut down the studios on the Sunshine Coast.

That means they only have studios in Wollongong and Hobart now.

Back in July when a separate sport reporter was introduced back into the Queensland bulletin was the first time that the news desk was seen and various comments including @Leila_Mck indicated that it was the NSW desk. There were also hints from some of the backgrounds prior to that that a different studio was in use.

Weather reports are still coming out of Maroochydore studios for the time being.

Some more of the ‘newer style’ Facebook graphics. Shame this style hasn’t made it into the actual bulletins, aside from promos.

That second image is very Ten-esque.

Here is the All Australian News from Wednesday Morning. I don’t know why they even bother airing this on the Northern NSW/Gold Coast feed
When they only get 1-2 Minute updates.

Filler for the schedule?

It airs in all of WIN’s markets. Local news or not
