I wonder how long? Maybe a mid year launch?

A few months.

And planning too. But I’m sure SCA did launch news bulletins at a bit quicker pace than WIN is doing now?

  1. What bulletins have SCA launched in the last 23 years?

  2. WIN has nothing to do with the upcoming Tasmania bulletin, it’s all Nine

Where would they source the 5-6 pm news feed from if they were to go with two hours of news? All they could do is time-shift Melbourne’s 4pm news to 5pm which is hardly ideal. They couldn’t take Adelaide because of time zone differences. At a push they could take the Brisbane bulletin live during DST. Or were you suggesting they produce another hour of news locally?

They would be mad to ‘compete’ with themselves with WIN news, then 9 News Tas.

7 Tas shows Melbourne news at 4pm, right? Don’t see why 9 would do anything different.

Are they still occupying their original studios in Wollongong ?

There is graphic on the win news facbook pages. That uses the current style 9news graphics package

Similar colours, but that’s about it. The oversized graphics obsession continues.

i can imagine the brief from Bruce, " how many times can we get WIN NEWS on the screen?". - Reply from a low level poorly paid graphic guy- “let me try Mr Gordon”

I personally can’t see any changes in the graphics of WIN News anytime soon. I reckon WIN will be better off waiting for 9 news next relaunch of new graphics

I reckon there will be a relaunch within Nine News and WIN News when they eventually launch the Nine News Tasmania bulletin.

I thought 9 said the new bulletin in Tasmania would be launching sometime in early 2023. Nearly 3 months have passed and it has yet to launch.

Definitely odd that Nine has been very quiet about this since the upfront. I think it’s clear that the bulletin has been delayed.

I’m just wondering if it’s part of a agenda by both win and 9 to merge the news, by launching a reintroduction of 9 news local or putting local stories in the 9 news metro bulletin in Queensland, southern NSW and Victoria? It would be interesting to find out…

I can’t see how this might work without compromising the structure of the metro bulletin… they have always been quite dynamic eg. going to breaking news as needed ….
