Probably writing off the book value of the transmission assets which have been decommissioned.
DDA’s Nera radio links and Marconi ATM switches would have been end of life due to their age anyway.
DDA was a lesson Telstra failed to learn when DTV first started up in regional Australia: they price gouged the broadcasters so the TV just built their own infrastructure - WIN, NBNTV(SP) and QTV all built microwave infrastructure due to Telstra’s prohibitive quotes. Like all good telco’s, the management at Telstra didn’t learn their lesson and after they painted the Rudd Government into a corner the NBN happened. SCA TV signing with Telstra a few years ago was the beginning of the end for DDA.
So I wonder, following the return of WIN News to the Mildura market (providing it’s a hyper-local bulletin and not another statewide one) will advertisers in Mildura favour Seven or WIN more, full-time? Or will such advertisers only put such ads in on WIN during WIN News only? You would think Seven gets the most advertisers in Mildura given they are No.1 up there just like the rest of Regional VIC.
funny
No local reporter or camera crews In Mildura will be nothing more than hyper news bullitain.
