We Interrupt This Broadcast

Viewers just dont want garbage.

20 years ago we would have watched this due to lack of options.

When you have The White Lotus, The Last of Us, The Mandalorian and other high quality programs, who would choose to watch this rubbish?

I mean, MAFS rates :man_shrugging:

Wonder if Gogglebox is going to get a go at it

it airs too late in the week for them to watch? unless its for next week’s episode since the new ep comes out tomorrow

I found it quite funny but in my household all we do is dock reality programs so this is right up my alley. In saying that, it probably would be better off going for half an hour as a lot of sketches were repeated 3 or 4 times. Better off leaving some content for future episodes.

Not bad. I’d watch again next week.

I thought the forum might have liked the show more than the reactions above. I didn’t mind it but it really is a show that is 10 years too late. On socials I counted 10 tweets that weren’t from a Seven associated account. Didn’t see any “my new favourite show” reactions  Like most shows there tends to be a fall off to episode two unless there was a massive positive response so it needs to start fairly high to stick in the schedule. One thing of concern is, did they put all their best work in the first episode?

Yep - felt some of the parodies lost their edge the more the show kept going back to it.

Like with most shows these days, less is more should be the adage.

I suppose at least it’s something different. They’re trying something different to more reality. It would’ve taken a bit to produce I’m guessing.

Yeah, the laught track puts this show on par with the terrible Comedy Inc.

To be fair, i didn’t hate it. But didn’t love it either.

I thought it would be a mix of sketches - teasing tv shows, and teasing “everyday things”, but it was just tv shows they were making fun of.

I will tune in next week to see how it goes.

Another aspect it’ll have going against it, through no fault of their own, is that with so much more tv on offer currently, there is generally going to be less recognition of shows being parodied.

Of the shows parodied tonight for example, I’ve never actually watched an episode of:
SAS
Bridgerton
MAFS
Love Island
First Dates

If there’s any nuance to a character parody that an avid watcher would get, it’d be lost on a viewer that has never seen the source material.

Much less of an issue 10, 20 years ago.

By focussing on tv only, it may have made the job harder.

Apart from clips featured on Gogglebox, I’ve never watched Love Island, MAFS, SAS, House Of Dragon, Australian Survivor or Antiques Roadshow but still found something amusing from these. Maybe not LOL-worthy, but I at least got the gags.

That is a problem for a sketch show which only does parodies of television shows, considering the splintered way people watch television now. I would say that I haven’t watched most of the shows they parodied but probably know enough about them to get the jokes.

I don’t understand why some shows had parody names like Lips Island but others just had their regular title like Married at First Sight.

Comedy Inc was a lot better than this. This is just :face_vomiting: I mean it has some ok parts but the majority of it is just terrible.

i gather it want be on at 7.30 next Tuesday one would imagine.

The sketches are very short but an hour? could have made this a half hour show and paired it with Family Time with the same actor to give that show a chance.

No

Its part of the gag.
LIPS Island - Love Island but with botoxed lips hence, Lips Island.
MAFS sketches are just regular sketches based on the TV show.

The show had just 379,000 last night with terrible demos.
