Better than my prediction, but definitely can see it drop even further next week
it was an OK first start from my first impressions - it did get a couple of laughs out of me, but felt that it was pacing pretty fast through the sketches. the sketches were a little over the top at times, though.
Yes, i understand the gag on Lips Island but I think they should have used parody names for all of them.
Married at First Fight or Blasterchef.
Or even make fun of the byline like they did with SAS Who Shouts Wins.

I watched this on broadcast last night (first entertainment on Seven or any FTA in quite a while) and was rather looking forward to it, long overdue and the promos were silly but well done to hook potential fans in, I was also buoyed by Cynic’s preview and some of the names attached and the sneak peeks.
I was pretty let down TBH, it just seemed over-produced and too much in a short space, perhaps if they’d expended on a few sketches and put more quality into them, rather than jamming in so much but more so revisiting the same ones. And there were other issues I had too, like the OTT MasterChef one with the overflowing sauce (twice!) it was actually crude I reckon and completely out of context and just the general feel wasn’t there, there have been other comedy shows (short lived or successful) over the past decade that have instantly grabbed me and had me in stitches more than this.
I’ll give ep two a go, it wasn’t awful and I like the piss take of the industry, but not holding my breath.
Is that enough, in a 2023 and Seven environment, to keep it in its timeslot do you think, considering it’s limited and Nine and 10’s hits? Vs pulling for Border or Make you LOL or a Devil Wears Prada re-run. We’ve seen many shows across all networks do significantly lower, although I’m guessing the key demos are the more concerning aspect. They’ll be hoping for DVR recordings and live and on demand streams.
It really depends on the catch up figures the show gets on 7+ over the next week.
not all sketches have to follow a standard of what name to use - it should be based on what they want for the sketch
Yeah true!
Skit me baby one more time
We Interrupt This Broadcast continues Tuesdays 7.30pm
We Interrupt This Broadcast continues 7.30pm, Tuesday 7 March on Channel 7 and 7plus as some of Australia’s best up-and-coming comedians take down some of Australia’s favourite (and least favourite) TV shows.
Launching as the #1 new program in 2023, next week We Interrupt This Broadcast injects Lip Island into Love Island, digs the dirt on Gardening Australia, takes a family wedding to the next level on MAFS, goes beyond basics on MKR and keeps all the way up with The Kardashians.
Special guests Georgie Parker, Lawrence Mooney and Broden Kelly join ensemble cast Christie Whelan Browne, Bridie Connell, Michelle Brasier, Adele Vuko, Duncan Fellows, Greg Larsen, Ben Russell and Bjorn Stewart.
We Interrupt This Broadcast is a HELIUM original production for the Seven Network.
Georgie Parker must be desperate for work.
She’s been full time on Home and Away for some time now. I doubt she’s desperate for work. Probably her first time in a comedy role since Acropolis Now in the early 1990’s…
Why do you assume it’s that Georgie Parker and not the former AFLW player (who also hosts shows on Seven)?
I even noticed ex rugby league player Ian Roberts on the show too.
Did they seriously claim that? I guess we now know where Seven stand following its initial outing, save for a plunge to 100k-odd next week.
They do if they want to be funny.
I recorded it last night and just watched it.
It was only OK, certainly not as good as Fast Forward, Full Frontal or even Comedy Inc
I see 2 issues

The quality and quantity of shows (with a lot of the same shows being aired ad nausem) on free to air doesn’t give them as much content to work with as back in the 80s or 90s … eg. I think there’s only so much you can do with Love Island or MAFS.

This show really needs to be in a later timeslot so they can push the boundaries a bit more…. But can see 7 won’t want to invest much $$$ in a show that is only going to get fewer viewers at night.
Oh is that Georgie Parker?? I presumed it was the other one lol
Massive yes to that. A higher classification would give more room to move, and importantly more potential for people to discuss.
Comedy shows don’t need Volvo level safety requirements.
Some commercial send ups would be good… thinking back to Magda’s classic sorbent toilet paper send up
Would they send up Sunrise? They could use the actual set.
