Surely this is a rhetorical question?
Besides, families can enjoy the critically acclaimed Fam Time.
I still can’t get past the fact they don’t look anything like the people they are sending up. Just saw another one - Scott Cam. The actor looking nothing like him.
Which was made years ago but never screened?
I actually don’t mind the look of this show. Seeing it takes the piss out of reality shows it could definitely be worth a watch for me.
We Interrupt This Broadcast is here!
Once upun a time, a new sketch comedy was born
Do not adjust your set, We Interrupt This Broadcast, the biggest new comedy in decades launches 7.30pm Tuesday, 28 February on Channel 7 and 7plus.
From MAFS to MKR, The Masked Singer to MasterChef, Squid Game to SAS Australia and The Block to The Bachelor; nothing is off limits with a team of more than 25 of Australia’s top comedy writers ensuring We Interrupt This Broadcast is accessible for everyone.
A fast, furious and long-overdue sketch comedy series, We Interrupt This Broadcast reboots and revitalises a long-standing and near-forgotten Australian tradition: taking the piss out of everything, including ourselves!
We Interrupt This Broadcast showcases eight of Australia’s most seasoned live performers and versatile comedy talent: Christie Whelan Browne, Bridie Connell, Michelle Brasier, Adele Vuko, Duncan Fellows, Greg Larsen, Ben Russell and Bjorn Stewart, with celebrated screen actors and established comedy performers supporting the ensemble cast throughout the series.
Reflecting on the Australian sense of humour, Adele said: “We have a broad range of humour that shows our diversity. We’ve traditionally been known as laconic, larrikin underdogs – but even though we are that – we have a lot more heart and soul to show.”
Michelle agreed: “We don’t have just one sense of humour in Australia, but we don’t like things that are mean spirited.” Bridie acknowledged our humour is: “Laid back, dry, delivered with a wink and a good spirit.” Christie concurred Aussies are “self-deprecating” while Bjorn declared it “Cooked. Proper cooked mate”.
It is guest star Virginia Gay (All Saints, Winners and Losers, Savage River).
I see 2 people who were on Mad as Hell so I’ll be watching.
Extremely full first episode with lots of content. While some of it will miss the mark, there is enough content to appeal. I was surprised that there is a laugh track on the preview; seems unnecessary with this sort of show.
It’s Channel 7.
If it’s following the format of Fast Forward and Full Frontal, these were usually filmed in front of a studio audience with laugh track in-tact.
There were audience recordings for this but I believe they just screened the sketches/eps and didn’t perform anything directly in front of an audience.
I can’t believe that they appear to have Lawrence Mooney on this show with his Malcolm Turnbull impression. It was mildly amusing the first couple of times about six years ago but the joke is incredibly old and not funny now.
I think Comedy Ink also followed the laughing track.
And that was a good reason not to watch Comedy Inc. If you have be told when to laugh then it can’t be very funny.
I have to Record it to see for Myself, as it’s up against Survivor.
Just watching an episode of Fast Forward on YouTube. We can only hope for anything even slightly on par for this show.
