Watermarks

Merely a happy coincidence!

You may be right (I could’ve remembered it wrong).
With the crawlers the text at least changes/moves which avoids some of the burn-in, and it may be why ABC News 24’s text has that transition.

I think mappy is worse because it’s opaque and it’s there almost all the time (percentage wise ad breaks are so minimal).

Oh it can, my friend. It most definitely can.

(^ That entire blue box with Today logo is a WIN coverup, btw)

9HD Brisbane lost its HD symbol at one point tonight. It did return.

Apparently something called M<R is on Ton at 7.30

Why are they putting M<R on Ton?

Simple maths - M<R TON 7.30 is greater than 7HD

They should write Tonight or Mon 7.30. Ton is a stupid abbrev. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

could been TOM lol

Here’s a radical idea…ditch the damn thing altogether.

Historical note that Seven was the first network to introduce these promotional elements to their watermark in Australia and the first program promoted was MKR.

Seven’s way of abbreviating some words may be a bit weird, but it’s not as bad as ABC’s during the 2014 channel relaunch :stuck_out_tongue: (pic not mine):

At least they had the good sense to change after complaints.

Doesn’t get much worse than a constantly changing watermark. The seconds countdown is totally unnecessary.

The “Bride and Prejudice NEXT > 7” watermark is so huge during MKR that you can’t see the end of the subtitles. Epic Fail!
