Head Above Water - Amazon
Ah yes, when 10 got swimming rights from Nine, think it was 2008 or 2009 and became a pillar of ONE HD.
The great Anthony Hudson (now Fox Sports and former 10 AFL) used to call it, with Nicole Livingstone - also formerly Nine.
When 10 lost the AFL and Huddo was poached by Fox Footy, Stephen Quartermain called 2012. These caps look like 2013 (?) judging by that 10 Sport logo - was this their final year before Seven got rights?
And of course Seven ended its deal and now Amazon have it.
Three NZ and Sky are taking Nine’s feed and commentary, but the score graphics are slightly different, with the NRL logo replacing the Wide World of Sports website (wwos.com.au) on the right.
No live watermark for The Front Bar tonight, just the red 7 and the Olympic rings on the top right of the screen.
Doesn’t that just mean the episode was recorded tonight instead of live (even if only delayed by minutes)? I’d imagine something to do with booking Neale Daniher and Co (or maybe one of the others had a valid reason - I doubt the later 9pm start or SOO would be the reason though)?
That blue watermark is on both 7 and 7mate in Sydney and in regional NSW (via Prime7).
The only difference between the four is 7HD Sydney has the HD add on below the 7, but it looks a bit out of alignment.
The font in the Amazon Prime Video watermark makes the “prime” text look eerily similar the Prime watermark that existed in regional areas in the 1990s.
This was my first exposure to watermarks in Australia, so it does not bring back happy memories.
Not sure if this has been the case for long, but just noticed that 7 has a watermark animation, whereby the 7 PRG graphic will reveal the normal full 7 watermark (as per usual) THEN 5 seconds later, that morphs into a smaller 7 watermark with the Olympic rings underneath… is that morphing animation new?
