8 years ago the Nine Network placed an Olympic Watermark below the Nine logo. (31/12/2009)
Channel 9 also had a special 9 Olympics logo at the bottom corner back in 31/12/2011.

I seem to recall Ten having rights in mid-late 2000s?
With folk like 9am’s Kim Watkins, Aus Idol’s Andrew G and Video Hits Fuzzy Agolly?

That “Sydney.com” so-called watermark might be from 2009, but design wise it looked more like something from 1999 if you ask me!
The first year of Nine broadcasts after Ten had the rights (and also likely to be the first year of coverage input from the City of Sydney/the Sydney tourism brand), but Nine had the rights to the previous decade of Sydney NYE fireworks telecasts. If you want to go back even further, Seven had the rights to Sydney’s NYE Fireworks for the 1994/95 and 1995/96 shows.

No difference between sports watermarks on 7mate despite each affiliate inserting their own:

Slightly different watermarks on the primary channel. Prime’s interlacing issue is very noticeable on the Olympic rings. SCA’s is much better.

Just remember, that the “Live & Free” isn’t being inserted, it’s noticeably part of the production.

Yes just like last year. The exact same 7mate Olympic watermarks is interesting though as usually there’s a difference between affiliates.

More likely it wouldn’t blend in nicely above the Olympic rings? Or perhaps Seven instructed their regional affiliates to have a standardised “7” with Olympic rings?
Also, a petty side note, I presume the rings are signifying Seven’s Winter games (as opppsed to Tokyo 2020) or both?
I don’t have any equipment with me to get anything more than a quick photo, but 7TWO Mackay is still showing the normal watermark on top of 7 News.

WIN Television decided to place The HD watermark placed bottom right Of the screen during BBL06. This has to be the strangest thing that’s WIN TV has done when airing a Live cricket game.
How long do WIN viewers have to put up with the most horrendous watermark?

Just a guess, but I think it’s because there isn’t enough room between the Live & Free | part and the edge of the 16:9 safe area for the long Prime7 and GWN7 logos to be legible on an SD broadcast.
