Via The Guardian: “Vice is expanding its existing operations in Australia, which have existed since 2003, through a deal with broadcaster SBS to launch Viceland free-to-air later this year.”

EDIT: Mediaweek reports that VICELAND will replace SBS2 from “late 2016”.

I am still amazed why Viceland HD is not available on Foxtel IQ3 FTA tuner but the SD version is.Now I can understand if they show different content but they are identical so who is stopping the HD version ?

As of July 2017, Foxtel hadn’t given SBS an HD slot for Viceland. My guess is that is still the situation.

I’m guessing that Foxtel simply haven’t bothered to add SBS VICELAND HD to their lineup due to a lack of demand from viewers (which probably isn’t surprising for a channel that often gets an 6pm-midnight audience share of less than 1% in metro areas) and/or laziness.
